I grew up in Hawaii and loved it! Fabulous food, beautiful beaches and very laid back city. I haven't been back since '89 when I left. I'm almost afraid to go back, as I know it won't measure up to my memories. The congregations there were truly loving and close. It was when I moved to Kansas that I saw the dark side of the WTS. Sad. If all the congregations were more like the Hawaiian ones were back then, the WTS would be a totally different organization.
I've heard that the Hawaiian congregations are like that because they are so far removed from the mainland BS, they kinda do their own thing.
