I wonder if there has been any centralized advice given to the elders concerning ferreting out those from among the inactive who are truly discontent? Would be interesting to find out. People MUST be leaving in droves of they wouldn't be so antsy, it doesn't seem like.

Most curious.

I talked to my family this weekend, and they were most insistant on getting my e-mail address, because a guy I knew growing up wanted to "chat with me" about my "falling away from the truth".

Since my Dad is an elder, it is possible that this is a co-ordinated effort to round up inactives. Or maybe it's just an idea circulating around. Whatever, forewarned is forearmed.

kudos to you for those excellent e-mails. You stated things clearly and convincingly. The reply you got was absolute Borg programming. You probably have "done it", and I hope that your family doesn't go the shunning route with you. At least now the frustrating silence is over, hey?

Wow! You did a great job summing up those issues.

I admire your courage. I think if I get one of these emails from a 'concerned jw,' I will just hit my little ol' delete button. I have a feeling it's inevitable.

What really angers me is this org. has the power to make my family cut me off. And the really scary thing is, I am not positive that my family wouldn't. Sometimes just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach.

Sorry if I'm bumming you out. I don't mean to. I just get so sad sometimes that we are all having to deal with this bullshit. It just is so bizarre that they have this hold over people.

Good for you! Take a stand. Take courage, and know that we are all here for you and we will love when your fairweather friends won't.

Let 'em go right ahead with ferreting out people like you. As noted elsewhere, when they're done with the "ferreting work" they will be left mainly with the dregs of society, or of the society as the case may be, along with some ancient ones who have no place else to go. It's not going to be pretty.

I have noticed that since I've started posting here (about a month?) that my Mom doesn't do her little weekly phone calls to me. She won't even respond to my voice/emails. But at least you have the comfort of knowing that you have genuine fidelity to truth, not credulity to a legislated belief-system that has been mislabeled 'truth'.
