Thanks for the encouragement Everyone, it really means a lot and is helping me to not second guess my choice as much as I might have. Your words are also helping to keep my courage up. I haven't gotten anymore emails today. I'm supposing I probably won't get anymore either, being an evil apostate and all [8>]

I just got another letter this evening, and it is completely totally maddening. She read my letter, but she didn't READ my letter. Everything is seen through organizational colored lenses. All she can see is that I apparently am in dire need of help and prayer, must contact the magic elders to solve this dire situation immediately if not sooner! She completely glossed over any parts where I said I'm at peace, happier than I have ever been, etc. Grrrr. Here is the letter:

You are right I don't understand you in this regard. I know Jehovah does
not change but he has always done things in a progressive manner even
revealing truth. So did Jesus as he told the disciples I am not able to
tell you all the things you are to know. that is not directly quoting it
but there is not crime in thinking but I do fear that you have been in
contact with apostate thinking.
As for your friend next door she seemed nothing but nice to me so I have
never thought she would think badly of Jehovah's witnesses. And as far
as being dedicated to an organization. I am not. I am dedicated to
Jehovah and I serve him in unity with the organization that I am
convinced he is using today to accomplish his most urgent work and the
ones that are making every effort to do his will worldwide. I have not
questions or doubts about that.
I would recommend that you express your doubts to The elders in our
congregation. I am sure they can help you if you want help.
As for my appalled tone, admittingly so. Not because you have doubts
but because you seem to renounce your faith and your religion that you
voluntarily became a part of. If now you do not any longer want to be
one of Jehovah's witnesses in association with his visible organization
you need to talk to the brothers. That is something that you will have
to reconcile on your own
No one made me become one of Jehovah's witnesses. This is my decided
choice. I was not told or coaxed blindly in to this organization. I did
examine all the facets and I questioned things and I had and have no
doubts that I am in the truth. I am very glad to be as I had the choice
not to be. I will pray for you and pray about what can be done to get
you some helpful encouragement.

The bit about God being progressive really got to me too. My huband and I both looked at each other and said "What the hell is that supposed to mean????" Totally programmed responses if I ever saw any. Scary!!

It's amazing to find out how many real "friends" you actually have among the "friends" once you decide the org. isn't the truth. Talk about conditional love!
