How many baptisms at your District Convention (if you went) (page 4)

I heared from a friend that Rochester Minn. had an attendance this past weekend of about 3000 with about 25 baptized.

SOJ: Your figures, if correct, are way out of line with my experience - which is considerable. What part of the country/world is this is? Or are these numbers from a convention in 1973?

33 at perth in scotland..i was told..not sure of the makeup of the candidates

for years the Service Dept has considered 1% to be on target for baptism

1000 attendees = 10 folks anything less was not considered real growth, and to combine the fact that say out of 10 folks 8 are jw kids , we are looking at "2" folks from the terrirtory, imagine folks millions ofhours spent in the district territory and it only produced 2 folks, can you think of any greater waste of human resources

JT is that 1% just for Districts, Circuit and Special Days? It seems to low for actual growth to occur.

When I ws going to meetings and conventions and believing in it all just 16 or 17 years ago, I remember a pioneer sister telling me that the standard they usually baptised was around 1% of a days total attendance. From what I've observed, they're barely making it to .5% now.

I think it was 43 at mine. Wasn't all that great i suppose.

44 baptized at the DC I attended, and 6 of those appeared to be pre-teens. There was a peak attendance of 6,708 Sunday morning, so a little less than 1% baptized.

Another note regarding baptisms...there were a couple of interviews, two young girls - - one was baptized 3 years ago at the age of 10, the other was baptized last year at the age of 10.

These poor kids getting baptized so young, they don't know what they're getting into.
