Hell.... the last building work I did FBO:WTBTS they let me count work time as FS hours. I spent about 25 hours a week for over a year... and never knocked on a door the whole time. LOL... I coulda been a "pioneer"!

If you have a special trade and are willing to trade, um deal you can get away with anything.

Just goes to show how the drive for control over-rules practicality. They know how difficult its getting to get skilled tradesmen to do their building jobs for free. Then again, maybe they know there won't be that much more expanding going on? Ha Ha Crooklyn!

I have a different take on why the boys in Brooklyn INSIST on this policy of carefully screening those who volunteer for QB work...

The thought occurs to me that this is yet another example of making some activity "special" and therefore a "ring" to be sought after, if you will. In other words, making it something that not all qualify for, makes those who DO make the grade, work harder to "keep the privilege" with the resulting larger pool of unpaid workers to build the Watchtower Society's empire.

Sort of a "reverse psychology" thing.....like admonishing a child *not* to eat any more cookies from the table....

Much the same as making the Elder's Flock book restricted circulation, same concept. The Flock book really is nothing all that special, just the restrictions on it make it seem "special"...the book that Pioneers who graduate from Pioneer school has the same purpose in my mind.

    What do you think?

I worked on a couple of quickbuilds.

The 1st was for my local congregation. I recall working on wiring the foundation steel for the central attrium when the concrete trucks started to arrive, as we hadn't finished this was poured last, and when they came to pour the steel wasn't wired in one corner.

Well the brothers decided to pour anyway, then they run out of concrete, so put lumps of solid concret from the old hall foundations to expand the concrete. Any one like to guess which coner of the attrium started to crack no long after completion.

So much for the "high level" of integrity the brothers are supposed to show.
