I did a little google search on delusional disorder and got this:

    http://www.purgatory.net/merits/delusional.htm

Somatic type, in which the false belief focuses on a delusional physical abnormality or disorder.

One extremely rare instance of this disease is called folie à deux . It results from a close relationship with someone else who already has a delusional disorder, often under a closed environment. Both persons then share the delusion, such as the situation in the movie "Nell," where the main character is raised away from society with only her sister to associate with.

It is important to note the distinguishing factor between this disorder and paranoid schizophrenia is that in this disorder the symptoms of hallucination, incoherence, and loosened association are not present. This disorder occurs in middle-aged to older persons. However it is free from further deterioration or any type of remission. Typical is the diseased's unwillingess to participate in treatment or associate casually. It is generally believed that this delusional disorder stems not from genetic or physical means, but rather from pathological early life experiences.

Others may know what they are doing is not quite "christian" but the end justifies the means. Others are just hoping that God sorts it out in the end.

I think this is a very accurate statement. I used to think this when our BOE made stupid mistakes and bad decisions, now I know its all just BS. I think that the majority of the GB really want to believe that the WTS has the truth and if they or others make mistakes its because "humans are imperfect and make mistakes" and "Jehovah allows these things to test us sometimes" and whatever other JW cliches that helps them sleep at night. Whatever.....

    They may be disillusioned

    Ah, another much-worn mask.

With google, there is no disillusion. Only much to be researched.

Faking disillusionment won't work on this apostate.

I really don't buy the idea they are just delusional. I think they know full well what they are a cult and a scam, and they intend to keep it that way. They know armageddon is never coming, they probably even suspect God doesn't exist. Bait and switch, that's true. The way they cover up their mistakes, it just doesn't sound like it could be anything else. I think they have a lot of people snowed, thinking they are just crazy, delusional, mislead people with good intentions. No. I don't believe that anymore.

I once more say that I agree with the idea expressed by itsallgoodnow, and i can't see why anyone should try to exonerate them from their guilt they are lusting for power, end of story many people overcame the desire for women, and for wealth but the desire for glory.....

When I look at the gb, I have to remind myself that there are others also involved.

Such as the writing dept. etc. I think that the gb and the other depts. are staffed with a rather odd or at least a slightly disturbed group of people.

Most normal people would not want this kind of life. In order to function and enjoy and stay with a group like this must have an effect on even those who are more normal.

Now we need to understand that these disturbed people have trapped them selves in a dominating cult of their own making. They begin to believe and base their lives on their own nonsense.

I have noticed that the few people from bethel I have known, seem to be quick to anger at the least indication of disrespect for THEIR cult. I also noticed a rather obvious feeling from them, of their being superior to me and others and again quick to anger if they felt challenged personally.

This activated my alarm system, warning me about these people. That there is something here that is not quite right. This I would quickly shut down, ie due to the cult training.

Since I have left and destroyed my connections to the cult, I have come to realize that their total lack of feelings towards the members and their generous use of punitive hateful actions against those with questions only, has caused me to believe that they have MADE THEMSELVES into a cult run by EVIL AND HATEFUL PEOPLE.

That suffer from delusions of grandure and power and heavenly guidance. Their initial mental or emotional problems just led them to a cult belief system that then multiplied their problems and put them into a position to use and enjoy their illness.
