    RitchieR-

you are spot on with JW males. So many are like girls in their overgentlised manner and they have no courageous robustness.

What i hate is the hobby horse in the mags where they trot out the names of a minority who died without blood or rejected worldliness when the majority are raging hypocrites.

I remember a JW party where two sisters got so drunk they stripped off their clothes and danced for the goggle eyed young brothers.

Needless to say very little was done, though I regret to say I was such a young Wonder Brother (sing to Wonder Woman) I left as soon as I realised things were getting out of hand. Of course young JW are so used to being monitored and controlled that when the leash is off they have no idea how to control themselves or behave like adults.

They are oppressed people without dignity because they surrendered too much freedom and individuality to the borg so they are bound to be a grey and uninteresting lot. That's how I remember them to be, like machines without real personalities and creativity.

At least you all got invited to these "get togethers." I never was. I wasn't "strong in the truth."

    Soledad,

Me too! LOL, I faded at 17 ,anyways the only get togethers I remember were the bridal/baby showers and weddings. Oh and the approved movies...one sister took me to see The Bear.

The "get togethers" I went to were a bit more wild - we drank a lot . We probably would have gotten DF'd at the time if there weren't SO MANY of us all doing it. They would of had to DF almost every kid in 3 congregations under the age of 20. Ahhh....those were the days

One congregation I was in as a teen, had plenty of wild teens, who held outrageously wild parties. I was stunned when I attended my first "wild JW party"....but, oh boy! was it ever a lot of fun....we had beach parties, and after the chaperones got sauced up, the party was a hell of a lot more fun....About 3 years later, there were approxiamately 9 teens who were DF'd because of the wild, drunken parties, and some of the chaperones were reproved. But, there were quite a few of the "boring JW parties as well, but we would leave them to go to the wild party.

I remember one jw party that I went to that some guy I was talking to mentioned he wouldn't empty the ashtrays at his work because cigarettes were gross and also tainted and finding that funny even being young.

Often the main witness parties feel very jr high, the boys and girls self seperate.

There were lots of wild witness parties though too, but shhhhhh you never talk about those LOL.

I was an extremely theocratic teenage brother and really enjoyed what other kids thought of as boring Witness parties in Southern California in the 70's.

The only way the other kids could go anywhere or have a party was if I was invited to be a good influence on the others.

It was not until several years later that I learned as soon as I left they all started drinking and making out. At the next Sunday meeting they would comment at the Watchtower Study with double meanings refering to their sexual escapades.

I must say when I was in the organisation I threw some wicked parties - no standing around being all wimpy and pathetic - we had 80 people at my place, music blaring and having a rip roaring time - I was only 16 then - my parents had gone away & I was living at home....alone, well had my best mate at the time stay over & made sure we had a whole 2 adults to supervise but they were cool.

Used to throw many many parties. But a lot of the time when we went to others, invited or not they were pretty dull until ""our crowd"" arrived (we were the naughty but trying ones)

Richie all I can say is I'm so glad you are counting down...how many days till freedom???
