Do something to get kids involved. Music, arts, special programs. Make the metings shorter and no more than 2 per week...Most important..throw away all the canned WT rubbish. Let people really say what's in their hearts.

Don't have the sisters give the talks, though. I was horrified when we could join the school. Worst thing they could have done for me. I was 12 at the time, and thought it was an awful thing.

of course they could start teaching the truth. Instead of "The Truth", admit that there is no scriptural basis for a lot of the doctrines and encourage real investigative Bible study and debate. [Why do typos only show up once you have submitted the post?]

Actually, we did that back in the early 70's then the 2nd half of Thur night's meeting was occasionally allowed to be locally programmed. We'd to 15 to 30 minutes of singing with Brother O leading us, off key, from the podium, arms waving. But the cong. was mostly black, and no one was afraid go sing out! It was really fun. But that was a good cong, from what I remember as a teen. I moved to a bad cong. when I got married at 18, and the diff was as night and day. Then again, the new "bad" cong was all white.... Hmmm. I wonder if there is a correlation there or if it's my imagination.

NOTHING the JW's can do will get me back to a meeting except a funeral for one of my parents.

How about if they served a nice shiraz at the literature counter after the meetings?...no wait, BEFORE the meetings, might make them a little more tolerable.

If I was ever a speaker I would yak and yak and yak and yak and yak........ lol! I love public speaking!

I'm annoyed! I wanted to march over to the kingdom hall and give them a speech all right! trust me I can talk for the whole 2 and a half hours If I wanted to!

Yes getting good speakers would help!

If you have a person who doesn't speak loudly, clearly and with emphasism things can get quite boring! and please no robotic voices!!!!!!

A person Mumbling the words or speaking in a flat tone for a long time is soooooooooooooooooooo boring!

Honestly yes get women to prepare the meetings women like me! I'll add a bit of interest like movies (related to the topic of speech) slide shows! music! looots of music!!!!! oh and a lot of plays and drama! even live bands!!! yay! Maybe even poetry or mini activities! ya know add a bit more lively energy to it all! and an Intuishin (arr can't spell!) ya know a break half way through the meeting so people can get some fresh air and stretch their legs (it would really benefit the children) give them something to look forward to!

Some of the things you mention would work.

Make them intersting, better speakers, give woman more to do.

maybe some other form of expressing your faith. arts, singing, having fun, etc.

But now back to the real JW world: have an elder call you just before the meeting to ask if you come......

You'll be surprised artwork can sometimes mean more than a thousand words.

Also music expresses so much! the meaningful lyrics the melody the tune! music expresses so much if done by a good artist. (otherwise it could be pain to the ears lol)
