    Minimus,

I love you Hillary. Forget about all those other bad people. Just know I think you're special and that should suffice. OK baby?

    mmmmmmm.......................

All those who have been frightened of confrontation from years of being imprisoned and without opinions as JW's, this is where you can learn that it is not wrong to have opinions, and it is not wrong to express them. It is not even wrong to argue about them.

Do you recall all those insipid assembly demonstrations where we were taught how to tell people that they were damned to death, but without resorting to confrontation? You start the conversation by saying, "We are so glad to have you at the meetings Brother Rampant Willie. It was great to see you out on service last Saturday morning, and I hear that you placed four magazines and a book. That is very fine, well done.

There is something however, that the elders have asked me to bring to your attention. Unless you start wearing some clothes, and pretty quickly, our God Jehovah is going to leave you looking like a smoking heap of grizzly dung on his Battlefield of Love".

Well, we are free of that phoniness now, and we stand and fall on our own opinions, not on those imposed on us from a committee in Brooklyn. In the learning curve of finding out who we are, we often stretch our wings too far and break the ornaments in our little lives, but we should not fear this, this is where our character develops and where a free life begins.

For example, as JW's there was shame attached to not liking certain people in the congregation. We catered to these people, trying hard to understand them and not to upset them. In this way, they carried on behaving like asses, often for years, because their personalities were untrimmed by reality. There is no shame in disliking or liking whom we choose to - this is no longer a Kingdom Hall. If we wish to be loved by all, then we still live in a world that is not real and have not grown very far.

You should all be paying me cash for bringing you all put of your shells.

So U/D. quite your whining and looking for mods every time someone puts your nose out of joint.

    Best regards - HS

    Well, Well.

When the cat is away, the mice will play.

I thank everyone for their sincere expressions of love, and friendship, and whatnot.

    However Hillary,

Its not that you said I was fat or suggested I loose weight. I know I am overweight, and I don't try to hide it. The reason I am upset with you is because you stuck your nose where it had no place being. On the thread in question, I had said that I was fully aware of my weight, and did not need people to tell me about it. However, you chimed in saying nothing original. Now this frustrates me because of the following:

    • you made a public comment to me, and so my reply had to be public to show my response.
    • I lack the eloquence to get my point across without using words that Simon doesn't like.
    • I do not desire to converse with you via PM, because I know you would contort my statements, and make me appear to be a fool.
    • I thought you were a woman, although being a 50 year old man isn't far from that, and I didn't want to insult your ladiness because a few of my southern moral fibers are still intact.

Sure Hillary, I would love to join you for a 5 mile walk, jog, or run. Afterwards perhaps you would like to join me in the weight room, where we will do reps on a benchpress. Shall we warm up with 250 lbs? I'm sure you'd find your old ass quite lacking.

    Best Regards Screw you,

    RR

PS>>> Brooke, darling, I put a check for the child support I owe you in the mail.

    Jula,

Did U/D really use the word "daft"????

Did you know that word 'daft' derives from the Anglo-Saxon word 'Schmuck?". It actually means Schmuckers, as in "why don't you daft-off Norm".

...and yes, from what I have read of his posts Richie is an intelligent young man with a wonderful sense of humor. He is worthy of good advice and I trust mature enough to take it.

    hey richie,

glad to hear that you are causing hell around home. if you can't do that when you're 17, when can you do it, hey?

my mom was the same way. but unfortunately, i was not as rational as you are, and not as strong (in both ways), and so she often got her way. well, at least you have got a great head on your shoulders dude.

    Sorry Hill........ but.....

Although today we use "daft" to mean "crazy" or "foolish," it derives from the Old English "gedaefte," which meant "mild, gentle or meek." A "daft" person, when the term first appeared in Middle English as "daffte" around 1200, was simply quiet and humble, not noticeably nuts.

Unfortunately, while the meek may inherit the earth (or what's left of it, anyway), being humble does not always engender respect, and by 1325, "daft" was being used to mean "stupid," first in reference to animals, but soon in regard to people. Worse yet, by the early 16th century, "daft" had mutated into a synonym for "insane," which is where it rests today. If there's a silver lining to the story of "daft," it is that the word is today a rather gentle synonym for "crazy," more often used to mean "silly" or "impractical" than "seriously nuts."

I would hazard a guess that your use of the term "daft as a brush" means that you are either British or have spent time in the UK (but please don't ask me why "a brush," because I haven't the vaguest). "Daft" isn't in common use here in the US, but a probable relative is -- "daffy," which first appeared in the noun form "daff" back in the 14th century meaning "fool."

A more surprising "daft" relative is "deft," nearly the opposite of our modern "daft." Derived from the same Old English "gedaefte," "deft" separated from "daft" in the 15th century, and developed the "gentle" sense into its modern meaning of "skillful or subtle."

    Richie,

I stand by all that I wrote, it was not insulting, was on topic, and my advice was given against a backrop of you admitting that you were well overweight *but healthy*. I told you, that you may be healthy *now*, but you would without doubt suffer health problems in your future if you did not lose weight and that losing it now is easier than losing it in twenty years time.

You are very touchy about this issue Richie. Perhaps that in itself says something.

  • I thought you were a woman, although being a 50 year old man isn't far from that, and I didn't want to insult your ladiness because a few of my southern moral fibers are still intact.
Bench pressing weight is not what being healthy or fit is all about, but I am sure that you know that. I have run most of life, middle and long distance and I have climbed mountains since my youth, some very high peaks too. Though in my girly fifties, I am quite sure that one of my runs or climbs would put you out of action for a long time Richie. You may not have liked what I said, but you know it to be true.
  • Those who love you will help you, those who do not will use you. Let the reader use discernment.

Perhaps you can't read. Maybe you should take a break from running, and peak back into a reading comprehension class. Because this is what I said:

The reason I am upset with you is because you stuck your nose where it had no place being.

and then you chime back in with some crap about me being fat again. You can obviously read, but you can't comprehend or respond well.

And I love to hike. I would love to go mountain climbing. If you can procure some rope strong enough to hold my jolly giant ass up, I will gladly join you at our earliet mutual convenience. As I am busy, and you are pushing it for your age, I doubt that will ever happen.

    Have a good one,

    RR
