Maybe that explains why my mother called out of the blue with a friendliness I have not ever heard coming from her before. Even saying she missed me calling her!!!

the drama was about timotheus not going to athens university..

Don't forget to add that this was a totally fictional and not based upon any written story in the Bible.

No one but family knows where I am, and I doubt they'd try to talk me into going back. If they do I'd happily pull out the 1975 fiasco, UN, and my own apostate status from a PUBLISHING COMPANY who sets themselves up as Jesus' mediator when according to scripture, Jesus is everyone's mediator.

Hmmm. That felt like a rant.

edited to add: Oh yeah, and the WTBTS investment into RJ Reynolds.

I totally hated how they portrayed the inactive "brother" in the little skit they had about them. The dude was pretty much pure JW but just stopped going for no reason at all. That's not how all of them are. But anyways ya it was crap. And the drama *shivvers*.

when the Ex and I were inactive they basically let us alone for a full year....then they came around when

they knew they could get my ex alone and tried to seduce her back under my nose.... little did they know

that she was out a full two years before I even knew it...she was just playing along.... it was too emotionally

stressful for her to leave until we were married and I found my way to inactivity.....

they did not give a rats ass for me, they simply assumed since I came from out of town it was me who

    lead to HER down fall..

when they could not get us back....and they could not force us out.....they simply told everyone I quit.

As an inactive one I have some insight on this subject.

There are some who look down on me as if I was DFd. Those that do that were ones that I wasn't all that hip about anyway. They already had a bug up their butt about every little thing. An inactive person in their presence just makes them feel better about themeselves somehow. Glad to be of service to ya, bee-otch.

If I run into old JW friends we usually have nice, pleasant conversations for the most part. It's rare that I get a guilt trip from any of them. It's more like catching up with an old school chum that you haven't seen in so many years. So I don't feel like I've been outcast that much....except occassionaly. I mentioned in another thread where a used-to-be close friend's daughter got married and we weren't invited to the wedding...because we were inactive. I got over it. Life goes on.

I still have a few friends that I keep up with from the hall. I've gone to the movies, out to dinner, ballgames, etc. with them.

So for me, it's been a weird fading, because I didn't shut all JWs out of my life. I just shut out the religion. If JWs are willling to keep me as a friend, I'm all for it. To me that means there's hope for them yet.

I thought that I read that

they said at the DC, ... that, ... inactive ones ....

    have an ....

    ...... " apostate ... state of mind. "

And are to be avoided. So My question is: Whats right now ??? Did they say both ???

To CYA and have it both ways, the WTS probably said "some" inactive ones have an apostate state of mind. It leaves it up to the interpretation of the elders and "active" JWs judge which individuals fit which description.

i always remind jw's that i see in social situations that they can count their time talking to me. you should see their eyes light up like i offered them a million dollars. "REALLY? THEN I'M SPENDING ALL MY TIME WITH YOU!"- that's how every pioneer reacts when i say that. imagine how much of a difference it makes, when, according to them, LIVES ARE INVOLVED

talk about how we should treat inactive ones. That the talk wen over how all witness should be extra kind to inactive ones in hopes of drawing them back.

5 years+ still counting, still no kindness. Suppose I have that "innactive apostate state of mind".
