That article was incorrect.
He was also in a TV series called Jason of Star Command, which aired on Saturday mornings in the late 70s on American TV (CBS)

The Dilithium crystals are burning up Capt'n...she can't take much more....I don't have the power!
She's gonna blow, I need more power...
These words and those like it will be legacy hard for anyone to attain.
Gone have you to the place where no man has gone before, no mortal man, anyway...
Live long and prosper in the great beyond, Mr Scott

Scotty will be missed. He was very funny in Star Trek IV, and I especially like the line in which he tells Spock that Kirk is in a "wee bit of a snit".
Speaking of ST conventions, I was at one where John DeLancie, a/k/a "Q" seemed in, well, in a wee bit of a snit. He didn't seem very pleasant when signing autographs. Well, I guess when you're omnipotent, there's no need to be cheerful.

Ah, I first found out about this when reading a link someone else posted about a Smurf movie coming in 08, I thought about mentioning it but wasn't sure how many other people here would care. Pleasantly surprised to see I was wrong, I will miss his character greatly. For anyone interested, he was also in a movie that looked to me like it was fairly cheesy, something about killer bees I think. Don't really remember, I thought about renting it but it really did look bad, so I didn't even though it had him in it. (Think it had one of the other Trek characters in it too, might have been Sulu.)
(Just Googled for it and found it on IMDB; it was called Bug Busters, and it was Sulu that was in it with him, but I was wrong about the bees, it was cockroaches.)

He was also in that woeful movie "Pretty Maids All In A Row", the only redeeming feature of which, IIRC, was a naked Angie Dickinson
