If you want to see Scotty being as human as can be, watch TREKKIES. The first one. He relates having shown attention to a fan who wrote to him of her sucidal mood. After reading her letter he called her, made arrangements to meet her at the Star Trek convention in her city and took her for coffee. He did this for some ten years, just listening to her. Eventually she went to university and became a psych I think. He had tears in his eyes as he described this as the best thing he'd done in his life. He saved her from self destruction. Seemed genuine and a nice man. Sleep well James. (old habits)

You know when I was 19 I saw him at a Sci Fi Convention. He talked for a while and joked and answered questions. What is even sadder is that the man had Alzhiemer's. I turn loving adoreable people into monsters, vegetables from once being sound of mind and mentally sharp. It happened to my grandmother who is now very violent and does not know anyone any more. I feel for his family a lot.
