It's always the constant fear of eternal death that follows them like a shadow, she didn't want to lose her life so she got on with serving jehovah , which of course means she was manipulated into serving the FDS through her guilt and fear complex. With a grim life like that of course they will get depressed.

Way to go Jeff. That took guts, i'm glad for you. I recently too had a confrontation with a "Sister tm " in which I made her acknowledge me. It feels good doesn't it to finally have the inner strength to realize they are nothing but misuided fools.

I remember refusing to pray in public. I just told my dad I would pray silently, no need to close my eyes. When all the family was in, he used to insist that we all gather around in restaurants and he did that whispered little prayer that was really embarassing. Even now, he told us recently, that he went to an upscale restaurant, and when his plate arrived, he bent his head and closed his eyes to pray. Then the waitress came over to see if anything was wrong!lol I couldn't stop laughing. I was so happy not to have been there. And he thought he gave a good witness too...what he doesn't realise is that they look like total nutcases.

lilycurly i agree when out at a resturant we shouldnt draw unnecessary attention to ourselves. Jehovah hears our silent prayers.

Indeed most of them are well meaning muddled fools, they lap up everything the GB tells them and at one time we were the same until we woke up to the real world. They are oppressed and exploited victims of smart con artists.

I was eating a sinful double order of biscuits/gravy
Is it just me, or are all the other Brits getting a mental image of Hob-nobs, McVities Digestive or Rich Tea being dunked in Bisto?

Where in the "gospel" does praying over food become a commandment? A meaningless ritual at best.

As a completely un-religious person, I still find it a good practice to pause before digging in to recognize how lucky I am that I can have decent food pretty much whenever I want it. It helps not to take what good lives we have for granted. It especially helps when things aren't going the way we think they should!
So, meaningless ritual or not, stop occasionally to appreciate your good fortune when it's raining and you have an umbrella, when you don't have time to look for a parking place and one opens up for you just as you arrive, when you sit down at a restaurant and pick up a menu. You could be going through the dumpster out back--lots are.
