Me too. I remember being 'praised' by some of the sisters because I'd 'modestly' (puke) worn a t-shirt over my swimming cossie. Don't know what difference it would have made if I hadn't worn the t-shirt - I was only 14...I think some of the other (gorgeous) sisters got a few raised eyebrows for wearing flattering and stylish swimwear sans t-shirt...i got dunked at a circuit assembly.

tijkmo, if you were in Greenock why didn't you use that deco-esque 1930s-style outdoor pool at Gourock for baptisms? Admittedly, baptisms during the school holidays might have been a problem (divebombing onto the believers etc.)...or maybe it was the fear of erect nipples in that freezing water!

Actually I remember the T-shirt thing, what a pain in the ass it was. There was no way I was gonna cover up my best assets.

This board is having a bizarre flashback effect. Yesterday, out of the blue, I remembered that old purple songbook we used to have, before the hardback orangey one came in...and 'Listening to the Great Teacher' etc etc. I was always fascinated by the book (non)design. Did anyone see an album by a band called Polvo in the 90s? They totally ripped off an image of the 'wild beast' for their record cover - it was straight out of one of the books.
