Here's the real reason they are making all of these changes and who they are starting to look a lot like.
The GB was holding a closed door meeting when an assistant ran into the room. "There's a phone call one of you have to take...... it's a good news bad news kind of thing."

I would suggest the owner/founder had already proven himself successful at this and some wise CO/DO brought him to the attention of the Brass in Brooklyn (or wherever they are now).

I don't think they'd just get the idea on their own to go out and find a PR company. But to realize there's a guy inside the org. who does that, it would give them ideas, I'm sure. Maybe they consulted some JW PR person like this NetHolics guy and he did such a good song and dance they hired him.
I've thought for a while that the changes you all talk about sound so commercial that there must be some sort of PR consulting going on.
