look man...you need to do your research before going off at the mouth about pit bulls. i have owned pit bulls my entire life. they are loyal dogs who are very affectionate to children. if you researched the breed, you would find that they were never bred to attack people. when it was legal to fight them, they would have strangers in the ring w/ them. any dog that showed aggression toward humans was immediately put to sleep. and as for him attacking the porcupine over and over again...they are a very very hardy breed of dog. they were bred to have extremely high pain thresholds and when they were put in the ring, they would fight to the death. they are not STUPID or DANGEROUS...they only have STUPID or DANGEROUS owners. i just recently got a pitbull puppy. he is extremely intelligent, loves people, and other dogs....it's not the breed you should blame...it's the ignorant people who are allowed to have them. Kitty, you did say in your opening post that the porcupine attacked the pit bull which I have to agree with mkr I don't think that was the scenario.

I wouldn't wish what happened to that dog on anyone or any animal but I think you have to understand why some people have issues with pit bulls. They are relentless and if trained irresponsibly can be very dangerous. I have to admit that personally I don't like being around them. You are right, its the owner's fault if the dog is vicious, its just that they can cause so much damage if they are.

Do not attempt to sell your bullshit to me. I am a police officer and have seen case after case where these insanely violent dogs attack members of their own family. I always here the same stupid story from the victims and their family...

Bullshit, they are not. They are extremely vicious extremely dumb and above all extremly UNPREDICTABLE! They might be fine with your child for YEARS then one day out of the blue decide to rip the kids head off for no reason. Don't even bother trying to argue this, I had a case less than 6 months ago where this happened the kid had been around the dog it's entire life no history of violence 250 stitches to his 6 year old head later he knows this dog is bad! There are lots of bad breeds I had an Akita go bad on me! Had the dog for years no abuse no history was "great with kids" one night it decided to have a go at my 13 month old daughter she needed 107 stiches to her face! So there are lots of breeds that can go bad but when 8 out of 10 animal aggression calls are pit bull... You do the numbers genius! I go on a call and there's a pitbull in the yard I'll drop it right then and there no questions asked.

I saw a police trained german shepard break a drug dealers pit bulls spine once... Pit Bulls are garbage dogs they should all be put down!
