Yes well I think that last post shows the quality of your research... I think thats all you really needed to say wasn't it? That no matter what the facts might be you'll still love your pitbull? I think thats what most of the victims would have said if you had asked them just a few minutes before the attack! What kills me is the number of idiots who continue to say it AFTER the attack. It's almost a cult mentality isnt' it?

As to cops all being perverts well I think you might be on to something there too...

Something strikes me as odd about those pics: the distribution of quills (or whatever they're called) around the entire face, both sides and the top, very evenly.
It just seems an unlikely result of a dog-porcupine encounter - although it's visually quite striking.
I'm guessing someone was having fun with Photoshop, somewhere.

There was a thread with this picture and the newspaper article as well,,,, if you want to look back, you can prolly find it. Dog recovered, etc. It's for real. Musta kept attacking the porcupine, by the amount of quills in its face ... I guess it's true that these canines feel no pain when they are enraged.

No comments on pit bulls.

I like all animals, especially dogs. I have a german shepard and they are purportedly vicious, too. I like pit bulls but I am afraid of them because of the publicity of attacks. However if I acquired a pit bull as a six week pup I'm sure I would love and keep it.

Many on this board have strong opinions and express them. Perhaps a little tact could be in order.

Where do you get that all cops may be perverts. I was a Sheriffs deputy and I am not a pervert.

By the way I saw a lot of attacks by dogs and any of the large dogs can cause a lot of damage, although dogs like retrievers were few and far between.

But it did seem like the pit bulls caused the most and could not be stopped by bystanders.

Once they get started they go nuts and won't quit. Quite often the owners personality was a lot like the pit bulls and kinda ignorant and arrogant.

First of all: All I have to ask myself is "What were pitbulls bred for?" and the answer is enough to make me steer clear of them. What were labs bred for? SO, while your argument about turning any animal into a vicious animal has some shred of truth in it, the basic reason for each breds existance will predispose it to either 'easily' being turned a certain way or not. I don't want to have to be that careful around an animal in my household.

Secondly: You said: "I don't care how many calls you have been on....I stand by the breed." It always surprises me when ppl refuse to accept the evidence. The fact is: that pitbulls are a 'dangerous breed' in some cities or outright banned in others. I understand why he said 'cult-mentality'....it is basically useless because it is like saying, "I don't care what you prove, I will still believe what I want to believe."

Third: "i think ppl like you are more stupid and dangerous than a pit bull" What an ignorant comment to make and one of the reasons that I can't be bothered to reply much to ppls posts here. You don't even know this person, and yet you make such a statement, AND you are attacking his person because they stated THEIR opinion!!!!!!!!! What a load of crap.

Well, this thread is becoming voluminous. I'm sure Kitty will continue to love her pit bulls now matter what is posted here. It's not what's posted but the tone of language used. I will probably be in trouble for trying to keep the peace here but here are two analogies:

You usually don't stop caring for someone even if you been extremely mistreated; the battered woman for instance. Many of them still love the one who battered them.

Take the gun for instance. How many times have we heard "it's not guns that kill, it's the people that shoot them."

I'm not taking sides here. I expressed my opinion in an earlier post.
