mine always thinks I'm going to hook back up with a witness ex girlfriend or i guess dump her for god. Ive not been here long but shes not to happy with it. shes not religious in anyway she just dont like me talking to people i guess.

Mine has been very understanding; but I think balance is needed; She could quite easily take offence by the amount of time I spend on here during time which should be spent with her; luckily however she isnt a nutcase and I get the hint should she mildly protest.
You need to reassure your partner that this isnt a replacement for them and that it is just part of a much needed healing process; try and involve them where you can and try to remain transparent.

That's a good point.
My girlfriend spends alot of time on IRC (that's how we met) and she really doesn't talk about much on there, just chatting. She really doesn't understand what I get out of forums that are not just mindless chat. But she's young so I guess I was more that way at her age too (she's 24).
But I don't think she really minds, as long as I don't neglect her (I don't). -

Mine does and as a result I do not visit the board from our home PC. I think he's eased up a bit now and was pleasantly surprised that I did not elope with anyone at apostabbq or misbehave or even feel tempted too. (Could have been a different story had I persuaded tijkimo, katiekitten and littletoe to come clubbing with me afterwards though!)

My partner gets a bit grumpy if I'm here in the evening, he'll remind me over and over that theres a programme on tv that I usually watch, or he'll say "Right, I'm going out" or just make up an excuse why he needs to use the computer, I asked him to help me write a post a few weeks ago, it was on a topic he knows a lot about and usually is only too happy to talk about but he told me he couldn't be bothered.
As a compromise I try to stick to coming here mainly in the day while hes at work, and I don't post much at weekends either.

I had this same problem...ended up losing the girlfriend, but not because of the board. It's a tough one to get past that type of insecurity, I found myself giving up good relationships with people that I should have kept in my life...and eventually resented her for the loss of them.
Was really sad too, because that was the only real issue...but it was a big one for me. I like people.
