Been there, done that. Big whoop. But, as Mulan says, it was then. The most fun was hanging out in the Most Holy upstairs in Administration with the gourmet coffee, fresh baked cookies and deli sandwiches and salads while the "friends" below were stuffed together in cramped seats and the heat. I was pretty impressed with myself at the time, for which I am now ashamed. I was shallow. Appointed by holy spirit, but shallow.
How many of you had assembly parts?

That's interesting--of the half dozen schools I considered going to, all had application fees and all waived them upon request. Saying one doesn't have the emotional maturity to do something is different than saying someone was forced to choose something. But, I suppose folks feel better by thinking they've been wronged and then hating.

I was a child in a mind control cult. Not much choice there.
The entire time I knew everything I said was a lie
was brainwashed since childhood to believe I would be executed by God Himself if I did not obey everything she and the elders told me I must do.
Hmm, you were in a mnd control control cult, were brainwashed into believing everything the elders said, yet you knew everything was a lie. . .
One major thing I "regret" is that my guidance counselor never told me I could get my own student loans.
That is information freely available from any financial aid office in the country, as well as the government's and others' extensive websites on the subject. Would it not be better to regret that, instead of having everything done for you, you didn't make the effort to find that information yourself? I see you've had much success and talent, but every post still has a taint of blaiming others.

I had two parts once at an assembly one was a demo, and another was an experience on how i got my next door neighbour studying and going to the meetings. I always wanted to be in a drama hehehe es

I had circuit assembly parts twice, but I wasn't spiritual enough to have a part on a district convention.

I was in a drama, playing the role of Achan's eldest daughter--an Israelite girl who got stoned (and not in a good way), along with the rest of the family, for not revealing my father's "hidden sin."
It was fun but went to my head big time for just a little bit

my son once had a small part at an assembly or convention, I can't remember which.....and he was not even an unbaptized publisher....he may have been 12 or 13.....
AND
he was handling the microphones at age 17 - without being an unbaptized publisher either.

Lots of them. First District Convention talk was in 1972 at the Alburquerque convention to last one about 1987 at Springfieild Ill. Started to speak out too much and CO said "I cant trust what you will say". That was Ok untill about 1999 when I started surfing the www for material for a talk. That put me on the waterslide of freedom. DF'd in 2003 for apostacy.

My one DC part was an interview in 1981 when I was 19. I did a couple of dramas. Those were fun, kind of broke up the monotony. But I hated the beards! They used that cheap spirit gum that stuck to your face for days later. It left big red welps on my face.
That was also when I learned never sit with your legs open while wearing a skirt. As usual I refused to follow Jehovah's spirit directed organization about wearing shorts under the robes. Instead I embraced the naturalness of being an Israelite. I quickly learned however to keep my knees together at all times.

It started with a #4 on the circuit assembly. Then an interview on how it wasn't till we held to the restrictions for disfellowshipping that my sister made moves to return to Jehovah. (She said so herself) Now she's Faded big time. Then an instruction talk on the C.A. Then speaking part on the CA. Then a part with three other elders about kids wearing slovenly clothes and sports jackets, what a threat! Then a Talk at the District convention three years in a row,. The first was an talk and interview with missionaries returning from El Salvador. The second was a manuscript and the last one being the release of the Education Brochure. (whoop'dee'doo)
Note: I was escourted to the platform by a Bethel elder when I gave the manuscript talk. He also escorted me from the platform. While giving the talk I came to a series of questions, I read the second two but missed the first. Since the rest of the manuscript answered all three in order, I quickly mentioned the first question last, no one noticed. While walking from the platform the Bethel elder said, "Nice job". I said thanks. It wasn't too bad considering I had to rewrite part of it." He looked like he crapped his pants... "What do you mean you rewrote it!" What a moron. So, I explained about the mix up with the questions and he said, "Whew, ok." I could have said anything up there if I was so inclined. The boys in the upstairs room were following along with thier manuscripts and knew what was up.
I was appointed elder in 93 and had my first DC part in 93. The local body were green with envy. Hey, when you're good, you're good.
Who cares now?
