"help" is a matter of perspective. Some help by donating. Others help by going to the affected area and actually doing something about it. Others post on forums stuff like "the suffering are in my thoughts and prayers" while sitting in front of a computer. We could sit here and criticize half of the world on how they decide to "help". Some are now criticizing because other countries have not pledged their help to New Orleans. The government will get it's share of criticism on the way they handled this storm. You criticize JWs for their actions in 2001 by saying they did nothing to help out. JWs will disagree. They will never do enough in your eyes. It is your perspective on the matter.
Do You Think The Watchtower Will Help The Hurricane Victims?

SOJ, the scriptures show that even Jesus didn't want to hear of all the help or "works" that supposedly was done in his name. He wanted them to get away from him. He "never knew them". This is not a matter of my perspective. It is truth. History. JWs do nothing to help Satan's world of mankind. I wonder whether they feel that due to the partying, gambling and debauchery that went on in New Orleans, Jehovah had his hand in this. (I've already heard tthat one). I recommend that we actually "help" by sending donations thru the FEMA link. Or of course, we could send it via the donation program of the WBTS and we can trust that the GB will see to it, that God willing, any donations can be contributed to the disaster.

Yea, that's right.... Bethel was in lockdown during 9/11. Wouldn't want the wordly people taking advantage of the Societies precious but needed resources at that time. Hey brother, can you spare a glass of water and maybe a wet cloth to wipe the dust off my face? Oh..gee, that couldn't be true, they didn't write it in the Watchtower!!!

It amazes me how some can justify and rationalize most anything. I am glad that I can see the obvious and that I am no longer a cult member.

My problem is the WTS touts itself as a charity organization - especially if it means a tax-free status.
Very d isingenuous .

Sword: The GB is taking care of all the arrangements to help JW victims, hands-on. The effort was organized from Brooklyn and it also involves all congregations in the near vicinity. JWs that have fled the area are being taken into Witness homes in Texas, Alabama and Florida.
Math 5: 45-46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than other? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Anyone see the contrast? -
