Mad,
I complimented this thread, which I think is quite a good one. I am not responding to the writings of anyone else on any other thread on any other subject.
Just curious. Why did you choose to use bad language in your remark to me?

Hello All.
In the 5 or more months I have been on this board since coming over from H2o I have seen a tendency for the larger more influencial posters to gather together a majority of support from the other posters.
Those who do not agree with some or all points of the larger posters and get "shot down" for their thoughts do seem to be treated more harshly. This seems to be due to the greater support enjoyed by the larger posters, resonable arguements notwithstanding.
There is a word that might describe what I have been seeing. POLITICS.
As for bad language, (cuss words), I do believe it is low class to use them to try to bolster an arguement, feelings notwithstanding. To me, evidence of a persons communication skill is to put forth understandable ideas without sounding like they are teenagers in a highschool. Of course tempers rise and emotions flow. We are only human.
I deal with bad language by not responding to it. Like in the case of Yadirf's reply to my reply of his post about Joelbear. It was FULL of name calling and hatred witch only confermed my opinion that his conclusions were highly suspect to say the least. There is a reason it is called "gutter language". Growing up in the "hood" and in an abusive household has made me particularly sensitive to abusive speech and I have to suppress the crazy emotions such speech illicits.
Who knows what others feel. Nuff' said.
Why do I have the feeling that some might indignantly respond to this post with cuss words? Be gentle kind posters. I'm only human. :)
CornerStone
Cornerstone,
I never posted at H20. In fact, this is the only discussion board I have been on. I came in here in December of last year, and I judge each post on the merits of its contribution. The "important" posters who came here in more recent times have status because of the quality of their writing.
I don't like vulgar attacks on others, and I will call any poster on sloppy work. In other words, politics has nothing to do with it in my case.
Hi corner,
I'm replying in a friendly manner :>
I can understand why you would view it as politics. But I see it differently. It's people having a shared history and friendship, due to having like minded ideas here. And just like any avenue of life,it produces a group cohesiveness. It is not exclusive as many try to make it out to be. No one kowtows,no one always agrees, each is an individual in their own right. It seems those who attack use this as a means of discrediting the more vocal and high profile ones. They couldn't be more wrong.
But everyone is entitled to think as they choose. Just a few thoughts.hugs,T
I make a sincere attempt to extend my friendship to as many as time and posting limits allow. many don't take in consderation the exchanges that go thru mail, etc.
Hi Larc, Hi Tina,
Points and thoughts well taken. Thanks.

Hi Kent,
I want to respond to your good ideas with some observations I have. Please understand I am writing this with a constructive intent.
>What is even MORE interesting is the fact that the most spiteful people seems to be “good Christians”, with the “love for their next man” as a priority! Can anyone spell hypocrites?
You toss that word (hypocrite) around but it applies to everyone, some worse than others, as we perceive them. Does our "love for the next man" mean we take abusive language, blasphemy of God, etc by laying down and not protesting? You forget, one must also be ready to defend the faith and Jesus did that in righteious anger at times.
>There is one thing we can all be sure of – the only ones having anything to gain from this quarrelling is the Watchtower and their goons.
I agree with this but.......why do you insist on offending people, Kent? You claim it is your right to do so under, "free speech", then you whine about being attacked and you have started the argument to begin with! Your Hitler/God tagline is offensive to me for example.
>They can – rightfully, I might add – laugh about how easy it is to trick “the apostates”. Since there is some rather important things going on at the moment – if anyone should have missed it – I personally finds it a shame to let the Watchtower-goons have their way that easy.
I agree with the intent of your post. If the unbelievers would lighten up on the generalized Bible and Christian bashing you'd have less arguments. I get tired of explaining to people that we each answer to our Lord by our own actions and human organizations are not "Christianity". Hey, there are believers and non-believers but this forum is an example of true apostasy gone wild at times.
>Maybe we should think twice before answering hateful postings, maybe we should think twice before we make the negative threads the most debated threads. Maybe we should deny the Watchtower the delight of making us look like idiots!
I wholeheartedly agree. Perhaps all of us can be mindful of the feelings of others. I know its difficult, the first reaction from 'dubs when you critisize the Society is "you hate us".
What happens to me is my threads get hijacked by jerks who want to flame me for being a Christian. Look at my posts and you will see who they are. Yes, I have come on too strong at times. I have really returned some of the flaming and probably too much.
Not perfect, never will be till I get to Glory.
Rex
Rex,
Since we are in period of peace here (and I hope it contiues), I would like to tell you which of yours was my favorite post. It was the one where you described in some detail, the charitable works you were doing. I liked to see the human side of what you are about.

Thanks for the input, Larc. I don't remember the replies to the post because it was so long ago. Working with others who are down on their luck or have caused themselves problems with substance abuse is trying yet rewarding. You should have seen our youth group. They were carrying bags of groceries up steep hills (South WV is right in real mountains) in 90 plus temperatures and high humidity.
We accomplished things that only a supernatural force could have done. I give all the credit to our Lord God Almighty. We were united by Him and the deeper into His Word we got, the more we wanted to get in the Word (read John 15 for my meaning here).
May God Bless You,
Rex
