    Hi Rex B13

    You said:

You toss that word (hypocrite) around but it applies to everyone, some worse than others, as we perceive them. Does our "love for the next man" mean we take abusive language, blasphemy of God, etc by laying down and not protesting? You forget, one must also be ready to defend the faith and Jesus did that in righteious anger at times.

I agree "hypicrite" applies to everyone that are hypocritical, no matter if they are christians, muslems, atheists or heathens. That's a valid point. As for what is abusive language, I guess that depends on who is defining the word. What you call "blasphemy of God", I might call great humor. What you call "abusive language", I might find to be an honest display of emotions.

I do understand the fact that you want to defend your faith, and I don't protest to that at all. Why should I? What I do protest to - on a general basis - is that someone not belonging to the "Christian fold" is somewhat less worthy as a human. That someone not believeing in anything, or in something quite different - is less valuable as a human being.

I agree with this but.......why do you insist on offending people, Kent? You claim it is your right to do so under, "free speech", then you whine about being attacked and you have started the argument to begin with! Your Hitler/God tagline is offensive to me for example.

I don't "whine" when I'm attacked, but I believe it's the ultimate stupidity to go for the man instead of the ball - and that's what often happens. I don't have any answers to everything, and my ideas might be dead wrong - of course they can. And I don't mind a bit if anyone disagrees with me. In fact, I would be disappointed if nobody did! But in a discussion, it's the subject which is interesting, not a fight about how the message was said.

It seems many people here believes everyone should have a masters degree in English. Well, I'm from Norway, and I struggle to learn how to master the English language. As a result, I might use words that do offends people - and it just might happen I didn't even mean to offend anyone!

It would be so much better if the ones reading a posting was reading the message, not the form of it. I can't say it's any better making a caracter assasination with perfectly acceptable words than calling anyone a fuckin' prick!

My Hitler/God tagline is offensive to you, I'm sure of that - and a bit amused, because the content of the message can be proven from the Bible itself! Anyway, I don't use it any more. Personally, I'm offended when someone tells me I need to be saved! That's offensive to me, and to many others. And the reason is simple - the person saying a thing like that - feels superior to me. I have to become like him/her to have a chanse. That's back to the Witchpower, right?

I agree with the intent of your post. If the unbelievers would lighten up on the generalized Bible and Christian bashing you'd have less arguments. I get tired of explaining to people that we each answer to our Lord by our own actions and human organizations are not "Christianity". Hey, there are believers and non-believers but this forum is an example of true apostasy gone wild at times.

Christoans SHOULD lighten up, my friend. That is something you believe should happen, isn't it? Something you could use as a "proof" of being the "right believers"? That's how the Witchpower uses it, you know - and if you believe in what you're saying, you should be grateful. Wasn't that what Paul said?

This site may be an examples at times of ANYTHING going wild. We're humans here - and I can't see any so called "apostates" (from what?) being more wild, spiteful or stupid than anyone else.

I wholeheartedly agree. Perhaps all of us can be mindful of the feelings of others. I know its difficult, the first reaction from 'dubs when you critisize the Society is "you hate us".
What happens to me is my threads get hijacked by jerks who want to flame me for being a Christian. Look at my posts and you will see who they are. Yes, I have come on too strong at times. I have really returned some of the flaming and probably too much.
Not perfect, never will be till I get to Glory.

Valid points, my friend - valid points. Flaming isn't the best way to discuss - no matter from whom. Unfortunately, it's often a human response. I guess you will agree to the fact that you're not the mildest person on earth, and neither am I. But I agree to the hijacking stuff. Some people do that all the time, and succeed. And why? Because people are easy to fool.

When a valid point is brought to attention, there is ALWAYS someone that starts discussing something in the post that is COMPLETELY UNINTERESTING, and totally different than the subject in question. If this person uses some bad language, calls the poster a "fuckin' prick" or whatever, the Red Herring does its work. And time and time again, people fall for it.

Upon time someone tried to sort out these people, and brought the discussions back on track! I agree with you here, Rex.

Just a casual observation from a very new person. There does seem to be some sort of attack pointed against the more established posters going on here. Also it seems that these attacks seem to be of a more personal nature as opposed to simple a simple clash of opinions. In the very few postings I have made I have found the established posters to be very supportive and willing to extend themselves to help me or answer questions I may have. I fail to see the political gain from doing this, as I am no one of any importance on this board. Some the new 'angry' posters have mentioned cliques etc I have observed this to this effect- One group (the established posters) seems to be genuinly interested in helping others and providing what I consider to be valuable and educational information. Another group (the newer angry posters) seems to be focused on an agenda to bring those people down.

Its amusing that right after this wave of new posters arrived, whose "alleged" agenda was to attack the sainted leaders who reside here, that there has been a followup wave of "new posters" whose OBVIOUS agenda is to attack the previous newbies.

As for all that wonderful information they have been supplying you, if you have followed my threads, I have pointed out a number of lies and misrepresentations.

My only agenda is for the "old guys" to clean up their act, and make certain they are not promoting falsehoods.

Thanks for demonstrating how future newbies are expected to suckup to the longtermers. Noone could have done it better than you just did.

I really don't understand al the commotion. It really to me underscores the fact that some posters here think they are of some untouchable class. Just because they are criticised by ppl who have different views and opinions there has to be some sort of grand scheme to bring down the whole "anti-Watchtower" movement? Not to mention the fact that they often start the chaos with their belittling of ppl's views.

It's ridiculous to assume that the WTS wants to destroy this board. IMO it's better for them to have places like this up and running. Especially so if "prominent members" of the apostate movement participate here regularly. Here they can more readily observe what going on, so I doubt that they are really putting much focus trying to bring this board down.

From what I here about the last major ex-jw db it imploded. Ppl were just tired of all the petty bickering that went on there. It was policies implemented by the moderators there that chaffed some and it's most likely that that whole fiasco was the reason H2O lost so many memebers. I just think it's crazy that a multi-national, mutlti-billion dollar organization would focus on a relatively small discussion board, that's prolly only one of thousands of web sites out there that are against it's views to attack a few posters personally.

roro made an observation, but you, true to form come out and attack this new person unfairly.Just as you have attacked larc and others-anyone who disagrees with you is in a clique or a new wave of them-How utterly ridiculous! You keep saying you're not a troll-then proceed to display troll behavior to a tee. Like no one notices? Get real and get off the newbies leg- you have no credibility-like some others you traverse the threads like an unleashed rabid dog,to take attention away from the issues at hand, or just to avenge some perceived 'wrongs' done against you here lol. It's an old strategy,we're aware of it.
Roro-I hit my postinglimit before and couldnt welcome you aboard,so

Im doing it now WELCOME! Looking forward to your thoughts! Keen observation you made there! Trolls will never assist, there sole purpose is to tear down, and distract by fighting. (Ignore the obvious rabid idiots and dont let them intimidate you) hugs,Tina
(watch madapostate come back to insult me now,or his cronies-it will prove what Im saying)

    Tina:

I always love it when you are unable to control your true nature and display such in your posts, as opposed to the often grutuitous ones which have more "artificial sweetner" than a truckload of Diet Coke.

I'll extend to you the same challenge that I have to AlanF. Put up $10,000, and select a panel of 3 mutually-agreed XJWs from this DB (must live reasoably close), and I will meet with them and allow them to judge whether I am a TROLL!

Now, PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!

Or, simply change your photo. When I first came here and saw it, I thought you were a dragqueen.

    Hi Kent,
It looks like we have a lot of agreement here. I want to clarify my general view of others who are not Christians. I am NO better, my thoughts and sometimes my reactions are just flat out wrong, by my own standards. I said to someone, "Christians aren't better persons, they're just forgiven!"
But it goes deeper than that. A Christian who is truly saved needs to be progressing closer to the Christlike ideal. I would desire you to be saved because my Lord commands me to "Go therefore and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". I would not try to coerce you in any way.
The first three chapters of Romans, Paul deals with our inherent depravity and shows why none are better than others, Jew, Gentile, master or slave. He shows how Abraham was saved by grace through faith and not his own works. JWs have a skewed view of the Bible, they are totally works oriented and can never be sure of their eternal future. Actually, JWs are a mini-Catholic church in many ways!
I am seeing you now as a person and would hope that others see Christians as 'persons' and not 'opponents'. Not seeing the person leads to dehumanizing and makes it too easy to attack.
In my fellowship or church, we welcome those who others look down their noses at. We WANT SINNERS because we are all of the same nature. We want to show them what has helped us and then let them decide if it works for them.
Adulterers, fornicators, gays, lesbians, alcoholics, drug abusers, prostitutes, gossipers, gluttons, greedy, selfish, atheist, whatever label anyone has pinned on them doesn't matter. If we can bring them to Christ we are overjoyed, but if they do not accept Him that is no problem either.
I don't know any Southern Baptist that has ever been disfellowshipped and there is no need to DA. We don't keep track other than baptisms or membership rolls, nor do we keep track of how much money people choose to give and we encourage people to take from the collection plate if they need it!
We recently raised $2200 in a love offering for a lady who needed only $1600 for an eye operation to save her sight. I guess what I am trying to say is that all 'Fundys' are not the same.
Charity and compassion for our fellow human beings is something we see from individuals who are of may different beliefs and non-beliefs.
Let's have peace toward one another.
    Later,
    Rex
