In Defd thread I couldnt think of one I liked except Jesus, but loads that I disliked...eg King David, cos he got away with murder, literally, besides other things and he was consistantly quoted as an example, until in the end I felt like pulling my own head off.

Then there is Paul, who in my opinion, cocked up everything Jesus said and stood for. He has caused more controversy, with his bleeding shunning policy, and blood issue. Oh no sorry thats the WT

Then theres the F&Ds Who IS the WT, opps no sorry wrong again.

So who dont you like ??????

Me, too, Vitty. I always thought, David, what a slimebag! He killed that guy just to sleep with his wife. That's funny, I never knew anyone who disliked him as intensely as I.

The character of G*d really ticks me off in Job. He gets together with Satan and has a little wager, then tortures poor Job for how long (? we all know the details), just to prove himself right. Reminds me of something my brother might do. What a sadistic story; that book always sickened me.

Um...I kind of hate Solomon because I still have that My Book of Bible Stories image stuck in my head--the one where the baby's upside down and held by one foot and the soldier is holding up a sword...what kind of person messes around like that? And goddam the WTS for putting that image in a kids book.

I also hate the angels that went around killing the first born sons...in someplace I can't remember...was it Egypt? I remember being horrified as a kid hearing that story.

Oh, yeah, and how about Lot? First, he offers his daughters to the mob, then, after his wife dies, he gets drunk and has sex with them 'to perpetuate his seed'.

yeah but they always blame the daughters in the Lot story...saying they got him drunk and seduced him. Man...I get drunk plenty and still know while drunk that sleeping with family members is sick and gross.

I respect your opinion but think of this vitty. Jesus came THROUGH davids line. If it werent for David Jesus wouldnt have been born. David didnt get away with Murder at all. If you read about his life after that, it was not pleasant. Jehovah did punish him, by not shielding him from the Consequences of his actions. Actually under the Law David and bathsheba was supposed to be put to death. However, because of Davids sincere heartfelt sorrow and repentant attitude coupled with the Kingdom covenant God made with him, Jehovah forgave him and didnt put him to death.

That's the same yada yada yada I heard over 30 years ago in the KH. lol, I was even gonna say how my parents explained David's being 'forgiven' when I just couldn't get it.

Dont you believe that Jehovah is a forgiving God? Actually his word descibes him as a God who is READY to forgive. A mercifull and Gracious God. Is it so far fetched to believe that if David was TRUELY sorry and repentant that Jehovah would forgive him? Do you feel that Jehovah has ever forgiven you for anything youve done in your life time?
