Yup, yup, yup. I was sure it would come sometime right around the year 2000 (thought that was a nice round number). Dur There's no fool like a self-deluded fool.
Did You Believe The "End" Would Come In Your Lifetime?

Hell yeah!
Sister so and so was of the generation of 1914 and she wasn’t going to last much longer, I reasoned.
I was raised in with this crap. Drummed into my head at least three times a week. That doesn’t include the times I was expected to cram it down the throats of others.
I should be in the new system right now playing with my pet White tiger. That’s when I’m not helping other construct their beautiful houses on large acreages of land.

Damn right I believed it. That was one of their major selling points... I thought it would be here before 2000. And then when it didn't I thought it would be here surely by the time I was 30. Nope here I am its hasn't arrived. I know now the JW version of the 'end' is just bollocks.

I never thought I would have a teenager in this system. I would never have gray hair. I would never see my folks die. I was so dumb.

Yah, i did. I didn't fall that much for the 1975 thing, but i figured maybe 2000. I defintely didn't expect to get old, or have to face retirement.

I wanted to believe it, but never really did. I did believe in God for a while though and always figured that he was going to eventually vaporize me for my lack of faith. I always thought he hated me because I couldn't be like the kid's in the Watchtower and Awake. Happily anyway.

Absolutely, without question.
When I was 18, I was painting a barn roof with an old brother, probably 75 or so, but he looked 90. (He would die a few years later) He asked me, "How much more time do you think this old system has?" I said, "Maybe 5 years, probably less." He just said, "5 years... hmmm....." and nothing more on it. I can't help but wonder now what he was thinking about. He came into the "Truth" just after World War II. So many years he'd been waiting, and now this little upstart was telling him it couldn't be more than 5 more years. I wonder now if *HE* thought it was going to come in my lifetime. I doubt it.
