Dune series, frank herbert
movies:
Alien Series
12 Monkeys
Matrix Series
Contact
Hell Boy
Mars Attacks
Star Wars 3
Books:
Dune, anything by Arthur C. Clarke (Rama series one of my favorites), just about anything by Robert Heinlien (everyone here should read his "Job: A Comedy of Justice").
Movies:
Alien, Blade Runner, Matrix, The Thing (Kurt Russel Version), Mad Max, Farscape (not really a movie, but I loved it), 2001.
I've read so much sci-fi in my time I'll list authors
Heinlien...read them all......C. M. Kornbluth...Harry Harrison...Harlan Elison...H. Beam Piper...Edgar Rice Burroughs...Otis Adelbert Kline...Andre Norton.....and many more...
Movies...Blade Runner...Star Wars...Dune, both movies...Invasion of the Body Snatchers, both movies...Day of The Triffids, the British TV version...and of course Dr. Who...
don't much care for sci-fi, no, not me....
Tremors! That was fun. (sequels sucked) Max Max 2001 and the rest of the books Mars Attacks <ack ack> Dune - the movie. I couldn't get thru the book Steven King - his short stories are better than his mega books that end up as diareha of the pen. Peter Straub - Swan Song
Books - Has to be Julian May's Saga of the Exiles and Milieu Trilogy.
Films - apart from the more obvious ones how about Silent Running, Westworld, Dark City or The Quiet Earth.
TV - Has to be Dr Who, X-Files. And what about Space 1999 where everyone went around wearing ridiculously flared trousers.
Books - Has to be Julian May's Saga of the Exiles and Milieu Trilogy.
Yeah!...great story.
This is fantasy, but anything by Tad Williams is awesome.
I agree with all the above, but how could you leave off...
?
Plus so many more that others have already mentioned like Fight the Future, and The Matrix (only the first one though).....I'll stop adding now....well after I also mention the newest Battle Star Galactica.
