We are here to make this earth a better place."
    why?
"We are here to make this earth a better place" were the thoughts going through his head as he turned the plane to the left,
    approaching the tower,,
    Indeed why?
Let's all just give up. Let religion rule and poison the minds of millions of the earth's children.
    Why should you make this earth a better place? ................... 1. children? 2. 3. 4. 5.. 6.... 1007. 1000.0000.
    Why?
You would be a criminal if you would not be fighting for a better place on earth. .
There are two types of people; there are the ones who build and there are the ones who break down. Which group do you belong to?
why we should make this earth a better place?
It's fun, just plain fun! I love technology, drinks with good friends, out to dinner discussing business, showing at cat-shows, cats, dogs, talking to people, and you name it.
Why? "Cause I like it. Seems like the guy holding the beer does also.
pug-dog-nose all the way on the right.
    (pun intended toward WT)
    ain't this fun?

I'd change it, "I fight entropy because I must." When I don't, I despair. It would be great if Narkissos would dissect my sentence too. Is there anything aesthetically/linguistically pleasing about mine?

All I can do is hold the door open for little old ladies, and say "please," "thank you," "excuse me," and "I'm sorry" as much as I can. As time goes by I realize what little value our existence really is, so why not make the best of it while we're here?

    LOL, that'll teach me...

Well, put this way I must admit it's much closer to my shamefully negative soul... The double ring of fate (thus I read "must") instead of naive purpose and doubtful results. Sisyphus. Ancient tragedy instead of 19th-century positivism. The softness and fragility of a human face in the hard coldness of marble. Very classy.

Why? The place (home) you improve may be is your own.

Moral teleology ("we are here to x") and judgement (better vs. worse) were travelling with us all the way down (or up, if you will) to where we are; they were among the tools we used to make the world what it is. They are not going go leave us I guess.

Those kind of phrases, as many everyday words or things I now tend to behold with a sort of aesthetical amazement. Ugly or beautiful we are so movingly silly.

LOL, touche. That may be the most profound thing I've ever read on this board.

That's essentially the position of the persons behind the Hedonistic Imperative.

By making a reasonable effort to not contribute to the problems I am making the world a better place. Because we better understand the consequences of problem behavior than our ancestors, by my simply doing what simply makes sense to do I am improving the future's prospects. We all can't be human rights lawyers or environmental lobbyists but we all can use informed common sense.

Why? Because everyone other than sociopathic people cares a little bit for the human race and the earth. They are our relatives and this is our home.
