I developed my sense of humour as a psychological defense against the constant apocalyptic gibberish I had to listen to 5 hours a week at the KH.....when I got out, I was finally free to EXPRESS that sense of humour!

I didn't leave the "Truth," JWs don't have it. Life is very funny very often. And, if you are very very still and hold your breath, sometimes you can hear the laughter of the gods!

I lost it when I became a JW and gained it back plus more after yrs of healing.

"left the truth.." The premise is false. It never was and is not now "thee truth"

Well, let's just say I laugh at a larger and wider variety of topics now.

When I left the Jehovah's Witness religon my sense of humour was allowed to shine. After years of being supressed and people expecting me to be quiet it was a delight for me to have people wanting to hear what i have to say and laughing at my little quirks and jokes...

As a JW I always had to keep my sense of humor in check. Always seemed to me that JW's really don't have much of a sense of humor. Now I can let loose and not worry about offending everyone everytime I open my mouth as I'm sarcastic (probably too sarcastic).
I'm surprised to even see this question. Do you really find many with a sense of humor in the org?

I never knew anyone with a sense of humor at the KH. I seemed to get in trouble when we did laugh. Now, I must have one of the warpest (is that a word?) humors around.
