One must, to stay connected, especially in the light of what this old hobo said to me one day while we were getting down on a bottle of Wild Irish Rose (in a Boston alley) "if the people don't talk to you, you must talk to yourself." I was 16, and became a firm believer. Screaming is another thing!

If it's normal to talk to oneself aloud, why are we ashamed of it if we are caught?

Yes, especially when playing golf. I'm always fighting with my inner critic. Boy would I like to wrap an iron around his neck.

I do it so much that at work people won't answer unless I repeat a question directed at them several times. They think I am just talking to myself again. I don't try to hide it. It helps me consentrate and think clearer.

    All the time.

I repeat things out loud when I'm studying and have one sided conversations with people so I'm prepared when difficult topics come up. I also give myself little "pep talks" when I'm especially stressed about something. I have been caught at it many times but I don't really care all that much, I talk very quietly anyway so I don't imagine that anyone is overhearing the whole conversation I'm having with myself, just bits and pieces.

Dams ( I also sing along with the radio very animatedly when driving )

Are you sure you are not really me?!?!? Maybe I'm schizophrenic and you are my other personality!
