Do you ever talk to yourself aloud?

    Yes, often.

    When I was working in computer tech field, I found it to be the best way to work through problems. I'd walk the halls talking through the problem to myself. Stop at a blank wall and draw out the problem with my finger, and walk and talk some more. No one thought I was nutz because I always came up with either a) a solution to a complex problem, or b) the complex question to ask the head of development.

    I do this with my cats. This way I'm not talking to myself **heh heh**

    Yup... I do that with my two cats. I meow at them and then they meow back and we go back and forth like that...

    Talking to yourself is _completely natural_. It is only because we are taught to be silent when we think (i.e. school) that we think it is odd.

    Else, we speak both english and cattish with our cats. Of course, our cats only respond in cattish.

    There appear to be some words that are universal, other's that are learned.

    I think outloud so that I don't forget what I am looking for or doing. I say what I am typing at times, it helps in my accuracy. Sometimes I practice what I will say to another person, when it's important and I catch myself doing their part, too. Was this inspired me talking outloud on my person above you thread?
