Question 1: Do you believe that to be a certain mark of the true religion?

Question 2: Do you believe that absence of Scriptural basis for teachings is a mark of false religion?

Question 3: Do you personally know, or can you find, the Scriptural basis for the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses? Question 1: Do you believe that to be a certain mark of the true religion? I dont understand that ? elaborate.

Question 2: Do you believe that absence of Scriptural basis for teachings is a mark of false religion? yes and no, depending on what you mean.

Question 3: Do you personally know, or can you find, the Scriptural basis for the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses? Yes. Old soul I know where you are going with this, You and another have been asking those same ? to us here for the last month or so from what I noticed. I am assuming you have talked to JWS before about this and they gave you there answers. Maybe they gave you the best answer they know how and you didnt agree. Maybe they loused it up like many do and you SINCERLY want to know so you can understand and find the true religion. If that is the case Id be happy to talk to you about it. But if the latter is the case, conversation about it would be pointless and fruitless.

    Yes.

Question 1: In context of the quote from the (most recently released) publication which states that a mark of the true religion is that "God's servants base their teachings on the Bible." do you agree that this is a mark of the true religion?

Question 2: Do you believe that the presence of doctrinal teachings that are not based on the Bible is a mark of false religion?

Question 3: Are there any doctrinal teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses for which you cannot find Scriptural support?

Maybe they loused it up like many do and you SINCERLY want to know so you can understand and find the true religion. If that is the case Id be happy to talk to you about it.

Okay. I'll tell you what I have been told about those four points, and you can determine whether they just loused it up or whether they honestly have no Scriptural answer.

"All of the things we teach are not necessarily perfectly understood right now, but we can be confident that they are beneficial to us."

"We need to learn to wait on Jehovah because, in due time, He will reveal the correct way of truth to you. But if you become impatient for answers you will leave Him."

"Well, Matthew 24:45-47 shows that the Slave class would be feeding people in the last days..." I broke that Brother off with a head shake and re-read the Scripture to him, asking him to stop me where it called the Slave a class.

"The light was prophesied to grow increasingly brighter in Proverbs." I objected that Proverbs was not speaking prophetically at all but, rather, was describing a comparison between the path of a righteous one and the path of a wicked one.

"Well, even if you can't find Scripture to support these teaching, what are you going to do? Do you have something different to teach?"

"On the occasion where Jesus stumbled many of his followers, he asked whether his chosen were going to leave, too. Peter said, 'Lord, where should we go to? You have sayings of everlasting life.' And that is how I feel about this organization. They have sayings of everalsting life, too." That was a CO. I raised the question whether Peter said, "where should we go to?" or whether the Scripture actually said, "whom shall we go away to?" Then I asked, "Is Jesus an organization?"

So, you decide. Aside from trying to prove, as Shadow has done, that authority is okay, which I never disputed, this pretty much represents the variety of answers I have gotten. Did they louse it up? They certainly didn't offer a single Scripture to prove one of the doctrines that I asked for proof of.

Everything they spoke of was full of human reasoning and human interpretation, which I can't afford to base my confidence in. After all, it does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step, and I am not supposed to put my trust in nobles nor in the son of earthling man to whom no salvation belongs. So, please, I beg you, if you can, answer them Scripturally: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/98798/1708287/post.ashx#1708287

Isn`t this focus on DefD and whether he can answer questions or not, soon bordering on the line of persecution? I`ve had my bouts with him myself, but he hasn`t really butted in defending WT-doctrine for a long time now, has he? And when he does, his posts aren`t very intelligent, but at least he`s usually very polite. He`s just a JW, not with very much knowledge about the religion, but nicer than most of them, I think.

If we`re gonna persecute anyone, I think we should focus solely on celebrated WT Scholar. He is by far the most arrogant, ignorant JW I have ever had the plasure of arguing with.

I know that this is truely Gods ORG. I also am sadly aware that it is not in Good shape. Just because it is Gods Org. does not mean it HAS to be PERFECT. Never in the history of Gods people, His Org. has that been the case. I do not expect it to be ANY different today.

So, was that your answer? Or are you just a bit uncomfortable airing it here? PM me if you have more insights I might benefit from, please.

    I agree

If God wanted perfection right now, no one would be alive.

Ahem. I have an announcement to make: QUESTIONS ARE NOT A FORM OF PERSECUTION (unless they are of an offline nature). No one on this forum is required to answer a question asked of them, I edited into my post that defd should feel free to view these rhetorically.

That said, I consider it disrespectful to refuse to answer questions that are asked in sincerity and that do not try to pry into personal life. Since these questions relate to beliefs and dogma, I have posted them in the correct section of a forum designed for that purpose.

    Respectfully,

Old souls ask me one ? And I will answer to the best of my ability but I WILL NOT go back and forth and argue.
