sadly the travesty the is happening to children of other religions in other parts of the world makes these stories fly under the radar. And hollywood making movies about these "stories" I don't think it impresses people as much as us who were raised in this and can see the ins and outs of it. We know how traumatizing this was, others may not feel the gravity of it.

I feel so sorry for little kids who get sleepy at meetings. Even when I was uber-active, I never thought it was a good idea to force a small child to stay awake while some adult droned on about some incomprehensible trivia. You put a child to bed at 8:30 every weeknight except for one and then on that night, you expect her to stay alert until 9:15 pm. Right. Mind you, most small children are not put to bed that early anymore. But they should be--they need adequate sleep! And yeah...if Noah hadn't paid attention, then the whole entire realm of living species would have been toast. Right.
Oh, wait! It's been said before but it's worth repeating: It's a cult.

The other disturbing aspect to why kids get restless and frigidity during meetings is that they are kids who haven't yet developed the mental or intellectual capacity to understand or comprehend what is being said at those meetings, not to mention 3 or 4 hour sessions at Assemblies.
I dont know how many times I saw mothers or fathers drag their kids to the back of the Hall to get spanked for being frigidity during meetings.
The other thing is that parents were embarrassed by their kids restlessness among the rest of the congregation so by beating them in the back hall essentially compensated for that shameful embarrassment.
On evening meetings which sometimes would go on to 9 o'clock at night, many kids are getting into that sleep mode that most kids get into at that time of day, which makes them even more agitated.
