There are some organization that just arent RELIGIOUS they are self serving cults and thats what the JWs are. They arent interested in saving anybody they are just interested in recruiting and self perpetuation.
I dont think the Klan is allowed to roam freely and do what they want to either...nor are communists. There is a limit and governments have to act on the basis of the greater good.
i'm starting to sense a certain desperation among jws, that they feel that the great tribulation must start soon.
i think this is due, in many cases, to their own personal situation, financial or otherwise.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and these guys really start to suffer - what then?
the watchtower's promises that "jehovah would not forsake them if they put kingdom interests first" by skipping or dropping out of college, turning down promotions, "simplifying" their lives by selling their homes and moving to the hinterlands...will all prove to be meaningless.. if the gt doesn't come soon, and "jehovah" doesn't bail them out...then what?.
This generation...like people my age or a bit older who did NOT see the Great Depression...think this is BAD. They dont have a means of comparison. I think my father who was in WWII and is 85 and was very very poor during the depression, when banks failed and people were committing suicide and there were NO jobs... and now lives in a nice suburban house and has great health care and retirement money...would beg to differ that this time is ANYWHERE NEAR as bad as that was. This is an economic slump for sure...but no way as bad. Or how about when MILLIONS of people were dying of the plague? Does a handful of people dying of swine flu qualify?

Red honey...you are right about it probably happening to you regardless because of your mothers mind...however it was TOLERATED and you were not PROTECTED because she was a JW and they simply turn their backs on anything that remotely might make them "look bad" and its the child, the victim, who suffers and the perp who goes unpunished.

wow...thats pretty cool stuff. Im sure "God" was the second witness to that travesty. It sounded like some of the dramas Ive sat through at the DCs.

Becoming a JW changes who you are...even if you started out self reliant, smart, logical, tolerant...it changes you. And then when you REALIZE you were changed and step back and look at who you WERE as a JW you cannot believe that that happened to you, that you somehow ALLOWED it to happen to you.
Thats what mind control is. That is how a cult works. That is what it feeds on....control. And TOTAL HATRED of anything that points at its works and cries FOUL!!!
