I was in the car with my husband, driving through Georgia on our way to Illinois on the day he had his stroke....so ironic as I hadnt been in that state since 1975....and I was very upset. I was using his phone to check my mail when I came across a post on Facebook about it. I explained that Ray Franz had had a stroke and was in a coma. He has been a JW since 1986 and he recognized the name Franz because of Freddie but didnt know who Ray was or that Ray was the one who saved ME and subsequently our children, from the maw of the Borg in 1996. Rays name is VERBOTEN Im sure in the halls of the Borg. When I mentioned his name to two JWs in 1996 in relation to my needing ANSWERS to the things Ray wrote, I was met with open and deep and immediate hostility towards him because THEY had been in the Borg when the whole scandal with Ray happened. Todays JWs wouldnt even know and probably wouldnt care.

I hope that there will be a renewal and a surge of interest in what Rays life was about...revealing the TRUTH about The Truth and helping many attain their freedom from its evil clutches around the world. Im sure Bethel is rejoicing his passing, but where Ray was concerned his book was the nail in their coffin of lies. And his dying will never end the ripples it has created for the last 30 years.
We love you Ray and Cynthia. I sure wish I could be there to say goodbye.

Just had a yelling match with my JW mom....help

If your mom is anything like mine, my whole LIFE with her has been the same way. She has always found fault with me and my life and my decisions and my everything...real or imagined. If something is wrong then Wuz had something to do with it. I spent my whole life with either a literal or figurative slap mark across my face from her. Im 55 years old and she is STILL hurling epithets and defamatory accusations at me.
Shes wacked and you cant reason with her. Being a JW makes that exponentially more fruitless. Its not you. Dont punish yourself for being unable to move the unmovable object honey.

Help Please - Wife Misses Friends, Wants to return to KH

i am frustrated and dumbfounded.
i understand that she misses the social activity with her "friends" but we have been "very" busy socially the last several months with new friends and she's been having a great time.

My mother in law who was DAd in 99 decided in 02 that she was missing her friends badly and so went through a year of hell to get reinstated so she could be with them again. And after she was reinstated, it made no difference and the friendships were never the same as they were before. She was always regarded as tainted and held at arms length by them. It didnt take her long to be unable to stomach those meetings any more and came right back out a couple years later. Sometimes thats what it takes to put that final nail in things...stepping back in with those "new ears" on.
I wouldnt worry about it.

What Stupid Things Were You Counseled For?
by minimus ini've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".
the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

Got counseled for wearing a skort while doing a talk. Was told it looked too much like PANTS and sisters were not allowed to wear pants.
Was counseled for going out in service with a brother in his car with nobody else in the car...even though it was only the two of us who showed up to go out in service in the first place.
Was told not to hand out home made word search puzzles to the kids in the hall (I made them every week from words in the study article...they had to read the articles to find the words and the words were "complete this sentence" clues...so the kids had to basically read the articles and they had fun doing it and got mini candy bars as prizes from me when they turned the puzzles in. The parents LOVED this! The elders said that because I wasnt baptized yet, after a year being there 5 hours a week, that they couldnt trust that my puzzles didnt contain "apostate materials" and banned them as they were not Society sanctioned.
Was told I could not have private conversations with the brother I was going out with outside the hall away from everyone because people assumed we were looking for a place to make out. One of the really old elders would stand at the corner of the building with his arms crossed staring at us the entire time we were out there...until we came in. I was 32 years old. geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez
Was told I could not participate in a group Watchtower study because these were just an opportunity to party like worldly people.
Couldnt go to night clubs unless an elder went with ...then we couldnt go at all. Witness bands were heavily discouraged as well.

Totally out of control
by WuzLovesDubs inyou guys already know the saga of me trying to get my house back from the family of jw relatives who have taken over it....my oldest who is younger than their deadbeat oldest...is staying at the house until he goes to college having completed his lease in march.
he told my ex that his aunt is acusing him of being a squatter in his own frickin house and telling him that he was only supposed to stay a month...and that he is eating her kids food and making him feel very uncomfortable and very unwelcome in the very house he built which is not owned by her!.
what the hell is the matter with these people????

If I was consumed with getting them out of my house before....they just doubled my resolve. They gotta GO.

Look around you... why would you WASTE your life A) Hoping God will destroy the earth and everybody in it who arent JWs....B) going door to door telling everybody else that their religion is NOT pleasing to God and only becoming a JW will save them C) Raising your children to hate everything and everybody who isnt a JW D) Doing NO holidays NO birthdays having NO associates or friends outside the auspices of the Organization E) Going to meetings twice a week and preparing for those meetings and talking at those meetings and studying for those meetings which go over the same boring mind numbing propaganda over and over and over and .....F) Being disalllowed from thinking independently what the Borg commands that you think and say, or checking anything that the Borg prints or says subjecting yourself to being accused of apostacy and divisions. G) Losing your friends and your family if you choose to think differently from the Borg.
What part of the above in your opinion has ANYTHING to do with God? With Christ? With Love? With being human and LOVING THE LIFE GOD GAVE YOU?
