Shula-mite maiden. Is one of the songs purged. The tune is the same minus the original wording as the song celebrated the "womanly" form.

Purged songs of the Watchtower
by LogCon inmy memory of singing the kingdom songs go back to when i was a child in the 1950's.
they still hold a place in my memory and my heart.
how can something that is so much a part of your childhood not stay embedded in your heart.?.

Should I meet with the elders?
by winnie12 inso i posted my story somewhere on this board but long story short i have been expressing my doubts to my mom who is a jw.
i have been fading since december 2013 and went to a sunday meeting for the first time maybe two weeks ago.
i went only because i wanted to use the library that my hall has which had books published by the society from the early 1900's.

Don't meet with them. If you end up meeting with them, cry all the time and don't answer ANY questions.

the new jw bible and the verses they removed
by Crazyguy ini noticed they removed several important ones like mark 16:9-20 acts 8:37 and romans 16:24, so how does one find out if there is any relevance to them removing these verses and others.
they of course say these verses were not found in the oldest manuscripts so how can we see if they are correct or lying??

Romans 16:24 was not in the 1971 bible either, this one was updated from 1961 and 1970 therefore in this new version, they must have reverted back to my older version. I like to have a few different bibles on hand for such occassions like this. When I showed this old/new deletion to my sister she was noneplussed. She likes to toss out the old light as soon as the new light comes to hand, which turns out to be the old light.

The Biggest Fear From The Watchtower Organization Is ???
by minimus ini think the organization is worried most about how jws will stay loyal to their families even as it rejects the admonition of the gb and elders..

Love the animation Outlaw, they crack me up and were one of my reasons for joining in the first place. I do believe humor is unofficially banned in the Kingdom Halls and therefore in the Kingdom of Heaven according to the GB. My humor has alway been the cause of so much censure.

talked to wt. conductor about sundays study
by nowwhat? ini said i was concerned that they painted hezekiah as this champion of righteousness and how the article omitted when he paid tribute to assaria by looting the temple when he got scared.
and apparently he had an alliance with egypt, a pagan nation.
he said i was getting boged down with other references and missing the point.

Heartofaboy. ..........you showed quite a bit of courage there. I have two JW ladies trying to shepherd me at the moment. They seem to be quite nice, but they have that sort of .........blank look.......that frightens me so. I have said I would study the bible with them, but they are not willing to do this on it's own merit. They are so needy of their literature, that they can hardly get their thoughts together in a reasoning manner. They are stilted and unsure without their mags and books. They are starting to dislike me as well, when all I asked was that they share the bible with me. My daughter and husband have both died and I needed to search for some answers. I did not want a schedule of religious orders and credes.
Credit to you for standing up for yourself.

How bloody wicked is that. I was told off for thinking too much. Don't you ever stop thinking, reading and reasoning. These people nearly crushed the life out of me and led me to the edge. They were illiterate and hated my uni education as they thought I might be Satanized. They wanted me Sanitized.

I'm a woman from Australia, raised in this religion. My family are devote and are distrustful of me lately as I have stopped going to the meetings. I mentioned the name of "Jesus Christ" to my sis the other day and she looked really uncomfortable. As though I was an apostate!! What is going on?
