Speculation ( not theory ) on child abuse inquiries.
by DATA-DOG inmost of you, like me, keep yourself informed as to what's happening in jw-land.
like me, you make it your business to know what's going on.
so i'm wondering why the wtbts is allowing eldubs to appear in these inquiries in australia??

The Royal Commission also assists in establishing grounds for compensation. Legislation is what comes out of a hearing like this. They have far reaching powers. -

Today I reversed preached to JW's about the scandal in Australia
by ILoveTTATT2 inso today a friend recommended that i ask the witnesses about the news in australia.
i am in mexico, in a city called mazatlan.. two weeks ago i talked with some jw's on the cart about the septuagint and the different bible versions.
so we had had a decently amicable conversation back then (i have never admitted i was a jw).. so today i saw them again, same place, same time.

Steve2. Perhaps this comment was more about the general lying nature that is instilled into the JW psyche, and when under pressure to actually tell the truth, that person is under the hammer, fear happens. It's then that a person is so vulnerable to threats and the like. I do believe that the world view is changing though........just wish it would hurry up.
My sister has lied outright about child abuse. I watched in horror as she and her husband did it! They told me that it was not good to muddy the name of God and it was for the greater protection of the organization. Mind you, they are of the older sort of class, but still.......when confronted with absolute statements they made, they outright lied. It was an incredible experience watching them do it.
She had been fond of saying that... "Jehovah hates a liar"... It used to be one of her pet statements followed by her lovely ........Kingdom of Heaven ...look of righteousness.

Heaven.
JWs are liars under the guise of 'Theocratic Warfare'. Their number one goal is to protect Jehovah and not let his name be dragged through the mud
This is what I have been waiting to hear in the RC. I have been waiting for someone to introduce this part of JW thinking and lying. I completely agree with you. They can lie with ease in the name of "Jehovah" and it's done so often and in such a devious way.
Possum. Truly sorry for what has happened to you. Really, I feel glad your' here and adding your bit to the stream of information. Take good care now.

Royal Commission....don't worry it will not go away...
by umbertoecho ini need to let you know that here in australia the royal commission is alive and well.
people are aware of it and whilst it may not be on the front page of your newspaper, it will end up there at some stage.
although the elders are trying to squirm out of any culpability they are inevitably high jacked by their own arrogant assertions when they start to feel a degree of safety and ease in the questioning.

Orphan Crow not cow. Yes indeed. Crows come in all sorts of species globally we have a fair amount of really good crows here in Australia.....bearers of doom to the damned in some mythologies.
Lovely to hear from you.

JWs trying hard to hide in obscurity right now
by Zoos inon other discussion boards where active jws participate i notice them deflecting questions about the royal commission in australia by bringing up child abuse statistics of other churches, ostensibly to demonstrate that there is nothing news worthy to see here... "move along!".
they are trying to make this story disappear into obscurity, irrelevance, as if it's just part and parcel of big institutional life, particularly of the religious nature.
oh, now they compare themselves to every other religion on the block?.

steve2 I did understand what you were saying and I do see you were not saying anything about the GB and it's verbose attacks on religion. No problem with what you said at all.
I think I went on a bit of rant. Scratch that.......I did go off on a bit of a rant, for things are tense here....So please don't feel that I was countering what you had to say in your' post.

Child sex abuse royal commission hears Jehovah's Witness Church did not sanction self-confessed paedophile
Posted about 6 hours ago
A paedophile who admitted to molesting his daughters was not believed or sanctioned for it by the Jehovah's Witness Church, the royal commission into child sex abuse hears.
It is the second day that church elder Dino Ali has been questioned about the way he responded to one particularly shocking case of abuse.
Yesterday a woman known by the initials BCG, who was a member of the Mareeba congregation in Far North Queensland in the 1980s, 1990s, told the commission that when she spoke to the church hierarchy of the abuse against her and her three sisters she was treated with disdain.
This morning, in the face of new evidence, Mr Ali was questioned by counsel for BCG, Pauline David, about why no finding of abuse was made despite the perpetrator BCH making a confession.
Pauline David: So a confession of itself is sufficient evidence, isn't it? To prove that...
Dino Ali: It is, yes. Quite true.
Ms David: But in this case, you just ignored it.
Mr Ali: No.
Ms David: Well you weren't satisfied with it, were you?
Mr Ali: No, we needed, I think ... it's hard to define that except to say that the person might say things on the spur of the moment because they needed to get out of that situation. We needed to follow through to make sure that eventually this was the case — that this was true that we could act on it.
Yesterday Mr Ali gave contrary evidence that there was no confession or corroborating witness accounts, therefore the abuse could not be proved under biblical law.
The commission has heard the church has not reported a single suspected perpetrator of child sexual abuse to police despite there being more than 1,000 since 1950.
BCH was eventually tried and jailed once his daughter left the church and reported the abuse to police.
Mr Ali was questioned by counsel assisting the commission, Angus Stewart, this morning about why the church did not take that step itself, seeming to suggest the church believed it was up to the perpetrators to report themselves.
Angus Stewart: Do you not think this man should go to jail?
Dino Ali: I'm very happy that eventually he did for what he did.
Mr Stewart: Well, that was only because BCG, some years later, found the strength after she'd left the church to report to the police. In the interim, you and your colleagues didn't report to the police at all.
Mr Ali: No, we didn't.
Mr Stewart asked him whether it was appropriate for the perpetrator BCH to be walking the streets and continuing an ordinary life after the allegations.
"It's certainly not a good thing for him to be freely doing what he was doing," Mr Ali said.
Yesterday BCG gave evidence that her father sexually abused her on a number of occasions over a two-week period when she was 17 years old.
She believes he may also have abused her around the age of five, and her three sisters have said they were also abused at a young age.
"It felt so wrong that my father's abuse affected me so much and yet didn't even qualify as something wrong in the eyes of Jehovah's Witnesses who professed to be acting with the authority of Jehovah and the Holy Spirit which is considered to be above Australian law," she said.
BCG said the formal proceedings offered by the church were woefully inadequate.
"The trials were easy compared to what I had been through with the elders during the committee meetings — at least the court has rules when questioning survivor witnesses," she said.
"The Jehovah's Witnesses can do what and insinuate whatever they want and there are no protections for the victims at all."

I feel for him. He was so much a part of why this happened. Some people like to call him names, but I know he took the hard path with no support. He went to court alone, he refused to be cast aside by the courts. This man was very pertinent to what is now happening. I feel sorry and sad for this man. I wish him the very very best.

These men were so complacent about their past "wins" in courts around the world that they forgot about the other side of the legal coin. This is what has happened. The Royal Commission starts softly, softly as a prelude to the inevitably harder questions. Documents are perused, the WT men are lulled by past victories and have failed to take into account that evidence is there. Hard copy evidence, with their signatures....it's all there. This is the style adopted and it is has been gratifying to watch these mad men believe that they could disarm the commission based upon some frail belief that god would back them to the hypocritical hilt. And now? They are starting to experience what it feels like to be exposed and forced into acknowledging their own bloody signatures. It is amazing and at the same time tragic, then liberating......it's a scary journey to defend oneself after so long in the dark.
I have so much to say from what I have seen, it is heartening to me for all of us who suffered, to feel the weight of legal, moral clarity entering into this investigation.

Why are none of the 'Governing Body' being summoned to any of the abuse commissions?
by GodZoo ini'm not sure if this has been covered but i'm wondering why none of the gb are being requested at or formally summoned to any of the australian abuse commissions or other investigations that are taking place around the world?
they after all are the ones single handedly responsible for making and enforcing all the rules that are the sole cause of all these abuses and problems.. why are they just keeping their silent distance and leaving all the ill-equipped and sadly incompetent local elders exposed to take the full public blast, criticism and humiliation for all that is now being brought out in these investigations?
how are they seemingly able to sit cosy in their ivory tower immune and unaccountable?.

This Royal Commission is also about compensation. I didn't know that at first and am delighted at the implications. It's no wonder that they have tightened their belts so much lately...You know, cost cutting for the world wide preaching work and all that crap...Now we know that WTBTS has less leverage than they would like. They cannot exert their influence in legal or political matters and crawl out unscathed. Money is some thing that really makes WT cry....the mere contemplation of payouts is enough to make them call this the start of the Great Tribulation. I kid you not. This is already being said..... -

Data Dog... Don't stop being you for gods or somethings sake...It is so funny how you can present truth in humour.
WT in Australia is for all of Australasia......that is huge! The GB would need nappies to contain the amount of s... that they are s......ing. They have done us a great service in leaving it to the idiots here to deal with the Royal Commission. The thing is. They, the JWs never thought that it would get tough. They were mistaken and misjudged the alacrity of those conducting it. They truly think they are so above "us' that they have over reached themselves and are now showing a wonderfully poor history that is documented. These documents were subpoenaed, they had no choice but to hand them over. The party line is that they are so "co-operative" but that is because they had no choice but to be co-operative. It was that or a court case, and who wants that?
My nephew is an elder. He is in Sydney trying to give positive points to his mum. Of course this is all bullshit based as anyone can see from the video's that Barbara has put up and from my live stream here. I have worried family here for they know that I am the family "loose canon", which means I tell the bloody truth. Now that has gone against them. I think Punkofnice made a wonderful and insanely delightful comment about disfellowshipping Australia.
Yes!! The GB could do that and it would feel like some sort of nirvana to me....if wishes were horses and all that...........
