  Today's Daily Text - Being Uneducated And Ordinary... WTF!!!

  Elders & Ex Elders, did knowing sins of congregation members change how you treated them?

  when you found out all the sins of fellow witnesses did it effect how you treated them?

  it was shocking when i found out the range of bs these people did to each other.

  i don't mean sexual abuse, i mean fraud, theft, infidelity and more.

  Strange sounds from the mens toilet ,late 80s early 90s

  so as a young boy bored and wanting to stretch my legs i would sometimes take a trip into the toilet just to get away from the main meeting room.

  did my little mind know what certain sounds were coming from behind the cubical?

  no.. but now in my 30s i'm fully aware what that sound was.

  when i speak to my mum about things, she says why do you keep looking on the internet and news etc... why don't you just live your life and forget what you learned growing up.. maybe i was so so indoctrinated as a child that even though i have woken up and learnt ttatt, i still need to keep up to date with new findings from ex and fellow brothers and sisters.

  listening to their testimony about why they left.. this was to me and all of you i'm sure, the truth.

  so to finally wake up is absolutely massive.

  I can absolutely relate to how you feel. These are my reasons for being active on this forum:

  1. To keep up to date on all the crazy stuff that is going on

  2. Social aspect - being in a community of individuals who have something in common

  3. An avenue for me to express my feelings

  4. To encourage & support others

  5. Reinforces my conviction that NOT being a JW is the best way to live!

  6. Makes me thankful. Thankful that I am no longer any part of this cult!

  7. I am on the lookout for people who I know. Unfortunately, haven't found any so far. Wake up, people!

  so even though i don't drive much because public transit is so good where i live (and parking is a living nightmare), i always had a paper taped onto my glove box that said "no blood transfusions - jehovahs witness.

  see legal documentation in wallet.

  going through this "wake up" process as been a very crazy, emotional experience.

  What about her needs? Shouldn't they be satisfied as well? Wouldn't a proper gentleman put the needs of a lady ahead of his own? What if your views are terribly wrong? Are you advocating blind respect?

  JWs Do Not Know How To Think

  i recall a conversation i had after an international convention.

  it was recently in the united states.

  the one where they played the jesus drama and all that.

  I DON'T AGREE that JW's can't think. The fact that there are so many waking up shows that they can! =)

  The tricky part is getting them to think. The recent ARC, the Candace Conti case, and other sex abuse scandals got many thinking. I believe that almost every JW has the potential to wake up, but in order for them to do so, something has to trigger them to start thinking first

  
  

  We were all triggered to think by different things. For me, it was mainly the blood issue, sex abuse scandals, and not being able to get over the fact that God will destroy billions of innocent people at Armageddon. Others are triggered by false prophecies, 587 / 607 B.C.E., 1914, 1975, overlapping generations, the Mexico / Malawi scandal, the UN scandal, injustice in the congregation, the disfellowshipping of a family member or close friend, being disfellowshipped and shunned themselves, being stumbled by Anthony Morris or other GB members, unfulfilled expectations such as Armageddon not coming, something a householder said, stumbling across something online, etc. What works for some might not work for others. Every individual is unique in their thinking!

  The most important thing is NOT to give up on such ones. There have been many experiences of ex-JW's on this site who were highly indoctrinated, but eventually woke up because their spouses / friends did not give up on them. Hopefully one day, your wife might be one of these ones!
