I have found even ones who obviously no longer believe are very reluctant to talk about it. So I don't push it with anyone.
@ stuck- I didn't realise you have left?

by bobld inp. 4-7 comparing god's kingdom to human gov't.let us look @ the history of god's gov't.he can't control his rebellious angels so he sends them to the earth to cause disturbance.than he drowns 99 % of the human race including babies and animals.he instituted segregation via language.ethnic cleansing-remember the promised land.i don't like a gov't that kills father, mother, children, babies so it can give their property to their friends.. notice p. 7 subjects:did not god's gov't rule the nation of is.
for hundreds of years.look at all the corruption.obviously they did not learn the high moral standards.who appointed king david the murderer.there are many more examples.. p10 husbands make your home secure.why did they feature a black family.i notice more often than not they will do this on moral issues.. .

Some JWs if questioned on the use of the word "hate" qualify it by saying it's the biblical definition of hate - meaning: to love less.
That's all crap, they are pretty good haters- in the popularly accepted sense of the word.
IMO.And I have the emotional scars to prove it.

Why is the GB determined to delete the few enjoyable aspects of being a JW?
by NAVYTOWN init seems the gb is trying to give the jws a more modern, friendly image.
new website, new logo, cartoons for instructing children, literature carts, slimmed-down books and magazines, etc.
yet on the other hand they delete some of the things many jws enjoy most: the book study in private homes, congregation picnics and large get-togethers, private group watchtower study sessions, colorful socks for men, denim dresses for women etc.

The GB are in the business of deleting anything and anyone that has the potential to take away the glory that belongs to them.

How to capitalise on recent unwise appointment with my wife.
by disposable hero of hypocrisy ina brother was appointed recently in the cong, he's got a dodgy history, doesn't really have the respect of many in the cong.
it's surprising to me, but i don't really care, good for him.
my wife, on the other hand, is angry!

You could try going over with her a list of possible explanations for this "operation of error" of holy spirit.
For eg:
a) holy spirit knows this bro better than you
b)holy spirit got it wrong
c) holy spirit is not involved in the appointment of elders.
d)this is an ordinary guy that has been given a promotion by his buddies, not holy spirit
This may help her to think critically, without spooking her too much.

What are the Core Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by cultBgone inrecently someone asked me to define what core teachings have such a hold on jdubs that they have trouble breaking free.
trying to single out the driving force that keeps them in the borg, this is what popped into my head:.
obviously there are lots and lots of wacky things the jdubs teach/believe/pretend to believe.

Core teachings alone doesn't keep people enslaved.
You have to eradicate their true personality by:
Destroying their ability to think for themselves.
Undermine their self esteem by constantly reminding them of their sinful inclinations.
Then "lovingly" provide the antidote to their woefull condition -in this case obedience to the GB.
Genius marketing strategy really, create a fictitious need, then provide the exclusive cure.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Psycopaths?
by stuckinarut2 ini have been thinking that jws display an organizationally officially promoted form of thinking that makes them psycopaths!.
what i mean is, any person who enjoyed reading and leaning about past gruesome deaths, or who justified such things as being normal or acceptable would be deemed to be dangerous to society...a psychopath.
(by this i am refferring to the content of the bible of course).

I think OUTLAW thrashed this out on a thread a few months back.

Did you expect all non-Witnesses to die at Armageddon?
by Apognophos inapologies if this has been asked before, but i couldn't find a thread where the focus was specifically this yes-or-no question.
reach back in your memories to when you were at the peak of your faith in the religion, and tell me honestly:.
"did you, personally, believe that non-witnesses would die at armageddon, even if they hadn't gotten to hear the message at all?".
-

No, I never ever believed that God would destroy someone based on a technicality of registration.
Or conversely, save someone based on the same criteria.
I secretly felt JWs were mistaken about this. But there was plenty of JW interprtation of scripture I secretly disagreed with.

Why isn't the story of SAMPSON quickly and clearly regarded a myth?
by Terry injudges chapter 15:.
14 when he came to lehi, the philistines shouted triumphantly at meeting him.
then jehovahs spirit empowered him,+ and the ropes on his arms became like linen threads that were scorched with fire, and his fetters melted off his hands.+ 15 he now found a fresh jawbone of a male donkey; he reached out and grabbed it and struck down 1,000 men with it.+ 16 then samson said: with the jawbone of a donkeyone heap, two heaps!

I just thought Sampson was from the Simpson's Bible.
