  Single Sisters Over A Certain Age Group Getting A Bad Rap

  i'm new here; one of my relatives was a member on this forum a few years ago and told me about it.

  anyways, as a sister who has been in the org since childhood and now in her late 40's (plus as a woman of color), i have noticed that a number of brothers have an ageist attitude.

  they are very accepting of young women under 26 and rejecting women over that age, particularly those in their 30's and over.. is this an unspoken mindset from wthq (specifically from bethel), or is it that quite a number of males (sorry, i'm not sexist here) have this type of mentality?

  this weeks book study lesson was on martha, the sister of lazarus.

  the chapter in the "imitate their faith" book praised her for being "industrious".. the conductor at our congregation meeting was just positively gushing about how "industrious" modern-day jw women are.. he was so exciting, he could barely get the words out.

  Well, I think it was a women who first invented the excuse " I'd love to (fill in the blank) but I'll be organizing my sock drawer that night." And when women say they will be organizing their sock drawer or bra drawer or cutlery drawer we really mean it, we all have a genetic black belt in closet and drawer and cupboard organizing and that is our main focus in life - apart from pleasing up our men of course and you know what I mean - 😉 lol!

  last weekend was regional convention and mark sanderson was the bethel speaker for the last talks every day.

  his talks were video streamed from zurich to other cities in switzerland, austria and germany.

  one interesting point was that he wore an apple watch, stainless steel edition (link).

  I know the WT has no problem calling out all other christian religions as being "false" mainly focusing over the years on hellfire, the trinity, and God's name etc but I cannot remember a single article criticizing Islam.

  Oh ok, so what Bro Ken is saying is that you can read WT literature to gain understanding of the bible without needing a bible to do so, but it's pointless and wrong to read the bible without using WT literature as a guide to the bible. Got it.

  BTW, try turning up at the meetings with only a bible and state and that you don't need the borgsite anymore just the bible, see where that gets you.
