I'd say that frog is just about boiled.
The slow swapping out of following Jesus and the bible to following headquarters and the slave is almost complete. I spose next step is to slowly swap Jehovah for those terms aswell.
the study was on how wt has refined itself over the years by ceasing celebrations of christmas etc.. paragraph 11.
11 what a fine example those faithful bible students set for us!
reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘how do i view the direction we receive from headquarters?

jerome over on discuss the truth has picked up on something interesting.. in the july watchtower on page 28 of the article entitled “winning the battle for your mind” the following statement is made “keep in mind that satan does not want you to think clearly or reason things out well.
because propaganda is likely to be most effective, says one source, if people… are discouraged from thinking critically.”.
the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.
Dubs take things WT says on face value and why wouldn't they, WT proclaims itself as the only honest true religion. It sprinkles just enough little truisms and logical fallacies around like fairy dust to sound as plausible as fake news all the while lying their butts off.
i refer to the thread started by nikl quoting the daily text.
in which the comment said:.
kindness can help you to deal with a conflict of loyalties.. can anyone here (or there), give a verifiable example of when watchtower corporation has ever shown 'kindness' when it wasn't for some selfish gain?.
Zero

Nil.
lately i have been studying some basic christology and jesus in the old testament and why first christians believed jesus was god in the flesh.
really interesting stuff.
i am not really sure if i fully understand it but i do now realize why pastors go to university and bible school for a number of years and also how their beliefs are not just based on a few verses that can be edited in the nwt.
Religions like WT don't have to make sense to be effective they just need to twist your mind into a pretzel.
Then people argue over the shape of the pretzel. When they have chosen what they think is the true shape of the pretzel they defend and support their precious pretzel.
Religion = madness = power = control = tax exempt free ride.

WT knows exactly what it's doing.
Shameless!
in this wt literature illustration from a german kingdom hall, one can see that the two nonwestern jw's on the right are featured as needing to improve on their choice of clothing and become more american like the gobo wishes them all to be.. .. .
Yeah, funny how the creator of the peacock doesn't like men to strut their stuff colourfully or flamboyantly.
on another forum, a user posted that their partner is being hauled before a jc for asking questions and, that the jc will go ahead regardless if in attendance or not.. the post does not say what questions were being asked.

Actually Brother Richard Oliver makes a very good point that the GB don't give a flying fig about it's member's questions or concerns. That would include all members current or ex, active or disfellowshipped.
Thanks for reminding us of this fact Richard.
for those not aware:- during the circuit visit there is a meeting with elders &ministerial servants based on an outline.
the mss are dismissed then local matters (eg new elders, meeting attendance etc) are discussed.
recently there has also been a part of the outline just for elders - one year it was about stopping anyone dressing in a "gender blurring" way from going on the ministry.. the latest visit has a section of the outline for elders.

Overlapping generation? Please explain using scripture. LOL!
I 'll have to remember that one next time I see a JW.
