That is where my cong has been been assigned. I won't be attending though, I have a sock drawer to rearrange.

No TARPS Allowed (or large umbrellas).

i've been absent a bit more than usual.. at qualcomm stadium, home of the chargers and the "special arrangement" with san diego which means they use the venue for free, you are not allowed to bring a tarp in the 80 degree sunshine, nor a large umbrella.. mercifully however, you may bring a small one person umbrella you can hold or perhaps vice to the seat, but if someone asks you to take it down, you are to oblige.
san diego is freaking out over this i can assure you.

Unbalanced way of thinking?
by msconcerned inso, one hot beautiful (not a cloud in the sky) kind of summer day, there was an elder who decided to re shingle his house.
this was on the book study day.
he started early and got all the shingles off of the roof in time for the book study that night.

Actually, in JW world you can easily become a minor celebrity if not a hero, if something
unfotunate happens to you or your family or your belonings while you were otherwise engaged in the Lord's work.
This guy's experience probably did the rounds of the cirquit making him a legend. Hell, we are even talking about him.

from time to time i think about how certain illnesses must be very difficult to treat because the sufferer's actual perceptions are skewed.
for instance, how do you convince someone to seek treatment if they are under a paranoid delusion that they know too much and the establishment wants to put them on drugs to dull their minds?

Delusional people can be very convincing, I know I was in my WT delusion.
That is why the repetetive nature of the WT message is so important. Delusions are high maintenance.
Most Jw's spend their time trying to convince unbelievers of the delusion or reaffirming it amongst fellow believers,
via WT studies or just in conversation.
This is no accident, in order to keep someone convinced of an unreality you need to immerse them in it,
with nothing that could trigger a reality check.
Like keeping someone inprisoned in a darkened room with no access to outside light.
After a while they get so disoriented they will believe day is night and night is day.
This highlights the importance of having a reality touchstone.
Someone in your life whether it be a spouse a friend or a therapist that is going to tell you the truth.
Not just what you want to hear.

I would actually go further and say it is more like a date-rape drug.
You don't remember how it happened, but you know you got screwed.
Also, to me it would be more like a slow acting poison candy.
Slowly poisoning your mind and heart and eventually everyone and everything in your life.

How do you shut your mind down so you can get a good night sleep???
by jam inthe more i learn about jw's the harder it is.
to sleep at night.
the wife hit the pillow and within 5 min.. she is snoring.

Establishing a sleep ritual can be helpful.
For me it is
no caffiene after 4pm
warm bath
followed by reading for little bit ( nothing stimulating, even boring is good)
Turn off light when starting to feel relaxed.
Get comfortable,empty your mind and start taking deep breaths, in through the nose out through the mouth.
counting inhale 1,2,3,4,5 exhale 1,2,3,4,5 concentrate only on your breathing.
It may take practise but it works.

28 "come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and i will refresh you.29 take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am mild-tempered and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.
30 for my yoke is kindly, and my load is light.. it amazes me immensely how the organisation has completely overlooked the intent of this verse as supposedly said by gods son!.
