Ghostly presence? It's all in your mind
by Simon inby rebecca morellescience correspondent, bbc news.
the researchers created an experiment that made some participants feel a ghost was present in the room.
feelings of a ghostly presence - the sense that someone is close-by when no-one is there - lie in the mind, a study has concluded.. scientists say that they have identified the parts of the brain that are responsible for generating these spooky sensations.. they have also created an experiment that makes some people feel like there is a ghost nearby.. the research is published in the journal current biology.. there are many tales of the paranormal, but an often-reported phenomenon is that of the invisible apparition.. dr giulio rognini, from the swiss federal institute of technology (epfl), says: "the sensation is very vivid.

Until science develops a ghost detecting gizmo they don't exist.
red- you have really given this some thought haven't you.
Maybe ghosts like zombies are only hot to other ghosts.

I think if you get approved they put you on a list and you wait to get invited somewhere.
Could be anywhere. depending on your trade or skills and where they need them.

@LostGen- Oh so you were there too, yeah that was the three H convention.
H for hogwash which perfectly describes the meaningless insincere talks.
H for hackneyed which is what the message is trite and stale.
H for hokey-pokey which is what you would rather be doing. (after a few tequila shots)
@ Legacy- oh yeah the people watching was great. Many at our conventions had opera glasses, can you believe it!

A close personal relationship with my imaginary friend.
by Zordino ini'm sure we've all heard things like; " we need to develop a close personal relationship with jehovah.
we can ask him to help us through difficult times, he should be our closest friend.
throw your burden on j. or the ol' jehovah will provide.

I would love a close relationship if that imaginary friend was Drop Dead Fred. (if you haven't seen it, funny movie about imaginary friends).

Same here, you cannot speak of having a relationship with a so called spiritual being
in the same terms as a flesh and blood relatioship. It just doesn't work.
That's why he needs a mouthpiece like the faithful and discreet slave I suppose,
how convenient for them.
I had a sister tell me once that "her and Jehovah are like that" and she made the
sign for closeness by entwining her index and middle finger together.

Ahh so much Star Trek so little time.
Love Next gen and voyager equally, the storylines in the original are great
as well, and the young William Shatner has to be hands down one of the
most beautiful men I have ever seen.
Deep Space 9 grew on me after a while but it was my least favourite.
