  The whole introduction of cart witnessing is just a distraction to what they are really doing - that is herding everyone to JWTV. The whole meeting will be eventually conducted via a TV screen anyway. The carts complete with corny cart song just diverted attention for little bit.

  All my own conjecture of course, but that's what I think of the carts, simply because of how useless they are. All the fanfare and drumroll for .... wait for it.......dadahhh.....carts! You gotta be kidding me!

  Simple. If the scripture was condemning certain attitudes or behaviors then it was referring to Christendom, Satan's world or the dreaded apostates.

  If the scriptures were describing goodness, righteousness and holiness it was describing the GB, the 144 000, the pioneers/missionaries and sometimes if we were lucky just regular non-titled JWs.

  Ahh, those were the days when life was simple and no thinking, genuine feeling or conversation was required. A world of never-ending happiness where you can always see the sun, day or night. So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills......hang on a minute, I'm getting confused with the intro to a Prince song. Anyway.....

  I think the most important observation you make is "there is no longer any room for any form of individualism.."

  Whatever individualism we think we have as JWs is illusory anyway, but even what little opportunity there was for personal application of material is going, going gone.

  I think that's exactly the GB's intention. Do not go off script.

  this is in response to the thread about the supposed suicide of a bethelite in 1995.. when i went to bethel i and everyone else, signed a form stating that "if we died while at bethel the wathtower bible and tract society,had the right to keep our body.".

  yes, we thought it strange at the time but as a twenty years old you didn't think much about stuff like that.

  besides we were never going to die anyway.

  Did you KNOW Ray and Cynthia or the legal copyright holder? Only a few maybe had limited contact.

  i have known all of them over the last 15 years, talked at length with them, and knew what their wishes were, the copyright holder and spouse spent even more time with them socially and helping them set up their arrangements for when ray and cynthia passed.

  i don't believe that anyone else on this board or others was a confidant.

  there is no need to prove it to anyone but the copyright office which is satisfied with this.

  have you heard that old chestnut?

  i have.. typically it's the last resort when you have dismantled a jws beliefs and they have no way of defending them.

  they know they are beat so they come out with that one.. its effectively an admission that you are right and they have no argument but they are still going to attend meetings because they like the social club.. what a lame way to defend your faith..

  I met a JW lady yesterday who said it was no longer the "generation that will not pass away" but an "era" that will not pass away.

  I thought WTH??? Is that what you tell yourselves now to justify wasting your life?
