lately i have been studying some basic christology and jesus in the old testament and why first christians believed jesus was god in the flesh.

i am not really sure if i fully understand it but i do now realize why pastors go to university and bible school for a number of years and also how their beliefs are not just based on a few verses that can be edited in the nwt.

the quote comes from a book entitled: “media and society in the twentieth century: a historical introduction by lyn gorman, david mclean" the watchtower however, chose to leave out a portion of the quote.. the full quote is "therefore, it is likely to be most effective if people do not have access to multiple sources of information and if they are discouraged from thinking critically.. the following sentence which the watchtower also decided was best not to include states,.

Actually Brother Richard Oliver makes a very good point that the GB don't give a flying fig about it's member's questions or concerns. That would include all members current or ex, active or disfellowshipped.

for those not aware:- during the circuit visit there is a meeting with elders &ministerial servants based on an outline.
the mss are dismissed then local matters (eg new elders, meeting attendance etc) are discussed.
recently there has also been a part of the outline just for elders - one year it was about stopping anyone dressing in a "gender blurring" way from going on the ministry.. the latest visit has a section of the outline for elders.

i know i am, to me its a bit of a peculiar anomaly that the wts is still around and functioning in reflection of its decades and now complete century that the wts has been bullshitting to people .
organizations like the church of god have shrunk dramatically from its heyday of the 1980's, this too was another organization that spread and grew by publishing its own magazine proclaiming a armageddon soon doctrine and its main publication was called " the truth " .
i'm guessing some of this has to do with the fact that people who get lured into this cult aren't aware of its past, its doctrines, the people who started it and so forth.
Yeah I find it very surprising WT are still around and in the pink of health. I kinda suspect they puff themselves up to look all big and strong but it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out they are actually not doing as well their "figures" might indicate. All information WT provides is fruit from the poisonous tree as far as I 'm concerned.
Do we really know the true health status of WT membership, if it was dying on the vine would they make that public? There are ways of inflating figures and I'm sure WT knows all of them.

There is a mixed message from the gov and media which I 'm sure many must find confusing (I include myself).
Where the great panacea multiculturalism is kinda rammed down our throats as mankind's savior, running at the same time news story after news story of crimes carried out arou d the globe by terrorists of or "associated with" a certain religion whipping some people (understandably)into a anti "certain religion" furor.
