woah what? they count inactive and disfellowshipped people?
are they trying to fudge the numbers so people will think they're more important than they actually are?

8 not ashamed of the good news .
while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

as of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.
they're probably waiting for a publication to tell them what to say

they say that everyone hates them so that the dubs don't feel bad for hating "worldy" people.
But in the real world most people don't know who they are or what the fudge they're doing knocking on doors every week.
1. they done me wrong.

3. i'm gonna act like an apostate (smoke, drink, drugs, sex, outrageous behavior).
My stages were more like:
1. wait, this is bullcrap
2. i'm out
3. yay i can play games/watch movies with magic in now without feeling guilty and weekends are fun again
4. join this forum
5. rant about religious stuff

where's emeth?
it's been at least a month i wouldnt have thought it would take him this long to come up with a response
in the latest watchtower (july 15, 2014, page 14, paragraph 10) it says; today, jehovahs people are not often confronted with apostasy within the congregation.
still, when exposed to unscriptural teachings, regardless of the source, we must decisively reject them.. so, not often, but occasionally jws are exposed to apostasy within the congregation, and they are instructed to decisively reject it.
as we all know, the vast majority of the apostasy they are exposed to comes from the governing body.. i am meeting up soon with an old friend from the 1970s who i havent seen for decades, who is still an active jw, and who would really like to hear what i think about things.
no i was wrong it's on the online library and yeah they still use it in the TMS
28 if a man happens to meet a virgin girl who is not engaged and he seizes her and lies down with her and they are discovered,+29 the man who lay down with her must give the girls father 50 silver shekels, and she will become his wife.+ because he humiliated her, he will not be allowed to divorce her as long as he lives.
" -nwt 2013 revised edition.
was just on the thread about lot and his messed up family life and was reminded of another part of the bible that made me feel physically sick the first time i read it.
" 10 If you go to war against your enemies and Jehovah your God defeats them for you and you take them captive, + 11 and you see among the captives a beautiful woman and you are attracted to her and you want to take her as your wife, 12 you may bring her into your house. She should then shave her head, attend to her nails, 13 and remove the clothing of her captivity, and dwell in your house. She will weep for her father and her mother a whole month, + and afterward you may have relations with her; you will become her husband and she will become your wife. 14 But if you are not pleased with her, you should then let her go + wherever she wishes. * But you may not sell her for money or treat her harshly, since you have humiliated her."
-Deuteronomy (21:10-14)
" On the other hand, many women of Bible times used their attire as a means of gaining their selfish objectives. It was a custom for women of pagan cities, when about to be captured by the enemy, to put on their finest apparel in order to attract soldiers who might take them as wives. But, in case a captive woman was taken by an Israelite soldier, she was required to set aside her items of dress, some of which might be connected with pagan religion, before he could marry her.— De 21:10-13 ."
Literally the only thing they're willing to talk about when it comes to this rule. Well that's not including what is on the cd rom this is just the online library.
just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
lol DD i loved that thread
you get to see that heavensgate guy flip flop all over the place trying to keep DOT in and defend the wt but then DOT ends up leaving and heavensgate just disappears
This is after emeth joined so why didn't he try to help him out i wonder?

the reasoning book isnt on the website because it's full of "old light" and the people they pester into looking at the website might actually realise how stupid the religion is before they dedicate themselves to it
