my son who is 20 was remembering a few of the more amusing visits to the kingdom hall.
his favourite was when a brother announced.
"the new magazines are in brothers and sisters.
We had a family at the hall who had the last name, Crapps. Whenever their father would conduct the watchtower study and one of this family members wanted to comment ( they often sat in the back seats) this is how he would call on them. Yes, Brother Crapps in the rear or Sister Crapps in the rear. Get it.. Craps in the rear. You would almost always hear a snicker.

having read a recent thread on "mixed" marriages between active jws and non-jw (either faders or df'd) two things stood out for me.
first, there was a profound underlying sadness on the part of the non-jw poster (as there may also be on the active jw mates part) on the reduced intimacy of the relationship, both mentally and physically.
not being in this situation, but understanding what makes a marriage successful, i cant help but ask a rather harsh question....can anybody in this situation realistically envision how such a marriage can last in the long term?.
All I have to say is that I am glad that my husband stuck it out with me. I was a jw for 10 years while my husband was never a jw. Even though at times I am sure that it was extremely hard for him and he just wanted out, he remained and respected my decision. I found out later that he hoped and prayed that one day I would finally wake up and smell the coffee. Well, 10 years later the awakening happened. Our relationship is couldn't be better and we are completely WHOLE, as when I was a jw our family was completely DIVIDED. Funny though,if you ask a jw if they seperate or divide families they will definely deny it. I am so happy that he stayed and had faith in me. I would be so miserable if we would have seperated and then I finally woke up and had to spend the rest of my life without him.

kls, I must say I did get my fill of snow last year. It snowed so much in Rhode Island. We almost got snowed in. I was happy to get back down here to the sunny south. I don't think I could live in snow with the driving and all. It is different when you are a child and just play in it. The thoughts of shoveling and driving in it just literely puts shivers down my spine.

Cool exjdub! It is nice to know someone lives so close to me.
Awww...kls, the sun and beaches are nice,
but I do miss the snow. I was able to see it last year for the first time since I moved to florida when I was 10. It was great!

well done, medium, rare?
and how do you cook it?
on the grill, in a frying pan, or grill in the oven?
I'm not much of a big steak eater but I will have some every now and then.... this sure looks good!
