  For The Love Of Birds

  this is not unique to north america, but in some respects, given this continent's cities, and the many skyscrapers that dot the urban landscape, you may wonder how on earth this affects our feathered friends.

  well, i'm sure some of you have either seen, or experienced firsthand, a bird colliding with a window: bay window at home, office window, high rise window, automobile window etc., and of course, depending upon their velocity, sometimes it is to their doom.

  yes, we are losing many bird species, and here in ontario, some of our songbirds are succumbing to architectural beauty over practical design.

  Cyber equality/Pretty boys lose their edge

  i was thinking today about a certain poster who seems to have a hard time dealing with anyone who does not embrace his point of view.

  he appears to be one of those big, very good looking men who is use to having people pander to him.

  y-all know the type, pretty-boy, who the ladies, starting with momma, always think is wonderful no matter what stupid thing he does or says.

  I have found the net is full of all sorts of people no two alike. Some people hide behind their screen pretending to be someone they're not. It takes all kinds to make an intersting world and that we have for sure.

  If the end did come

  when you were a witness, and the end actually came, how do you think you would have reacted?.

  with all the blood and carnage, do you think you really would have been so happy?

  the day we awaited was actually here?.

  I'm not a JW but I remember when the world was suppose to end. We were in school sitting in class I can't rember the time it was suppose to end right now but we all sat there and watched the clock and the time came and passed. You could hear a sigh of relief as it did. We never gave much thought to if we were ready for it we were just kids. No I never did believe it was going to end as described.

  Incompatibility

  in chemistry, certain chemicals react violently to other ingredients and should never be put together.

  if we make a comparison with our everyday lives, do you think that certain people are incompatible with others, and that no matter what they do, they will never be friends?

  have you ever experienced being incompatible to someone?

  There are some people who just simply don't seem to be able to get along and can never be friends no matter what. There are also friendships which end abruptly and we never know the reason why. Yes I've been there sometimes you just can't for the life of yourself figure out why it happens.

  Do You Try To Make People Feel Comfortable Around You?

  since this board is filled with so many different personalities, do you ever go out of your way to try to make people feel good?

  do we ever consider that we might make some persons feel unwanted because of constant criticisms?

  i've communicated with one poster recently that's become discouraged over how some people constantly berate or disparage.....if you knew you were hurting somebody's feelings, would you do so intentionally?

  I try to be myself. Why be someone your not just to please people? In the end you just turn out to be someone you don't like perhaps and what the use in that? If someone doesn't like me then it's best we both move on and not waist the others time. No I don't intentionally hurt others enough people do that in this world we live in. Yes I do re-evaluate thngs from time to time some times there is a different angle that can be taken.

  my mom is taking me camping this week, and my boyfriend just happens to be at the same campground.

  Just be yourself don't be someone your not! If you start being someone your not you end up living one lie after another just to keep yourself covered and in the end you loose it all. Just go be you and have a great time. It will all work out if it's meant to.

  I too am a lurker. I was never a JW but have joined the board after a close friend suggested so I could better understand what he has gone through in his past. I truely enjoy reading the board almost every day and share in all your ups and downs with you. I sometimes wish to post but feel like what I have to say is stupid. I would like to thank all you for helping me better understand the life of a JW you are truely a wonderful family.

  The right age to get baptized?

  i've always wondered why it was ok for jesus to wait until he was 29 to get baptized in symbol of his dedication while jw's are pressured at such an early age.

  do you suppose joseph was always on his case...jesus get up its time to go to the temple.....why didn't you comment today?.......when are you going stop hanging out in gallilee with all your friends and get baptized?.

  is this just another control aspect of the wtbts, handcuff you to the org while your young and make it almost impossible to leave later when you mature?

  When you are old enough to understand the religion and make your own decisions. Is this the religion you want to grow in and with. For everyone that will be a different age.
