Sheesh, what's with my spelling atm? Every darned post!
'Tailored.' Freudian slip.
visiting london years ago i had the chance to participate on a bible tour arranged from bethel.
what i remember, it was one out of 12 topics, and a brother or sister served as a guide, showing particular objects related to bible accounts.. at that time, i was quite enthusiastic about it, thinking i learned something valuable.. .
now, being awake to ttatt, i wonder what real scientific value those tours served.. or rather it raises the suspicion, that those tours are for visiting witnesses in order to distract them from many other finds in the museum, that would disprove either the bible or their own theology.. anybody ever made such a tour ?.

i am ready for a little guerilla warfare (no one gets hurt, of course).
but these literature carts in the city need to go.
everytime i walk by its all i can do to keep from knocking the thing over.. any ideas on how to destroy their little stash of paper.. so far my best idea is water, pouring water all over it.
Finkelstein, gross.
You (or whoever) may end up doing that to the cart one of my elderly relatives or nieces was watching over. If I saw a video of that I'd be disgusted at the one who'd done it!

Don't destroy anything - it just reinforces their persecution complex and (as cofty said) is vandalizing somebody else's property. I heard JW friends talk about a cart in the next city when they were new. Some 'apostates' or 'opposers' went over and knocked the thing over, shouting at the JWs. It just made the JWs feel more righteous.
If you're calm and have the time, talk to them, ask them thought-provoking questions, drop seeds of TTATT. Otherwise, walk past and let them get on with it.

I did one a looong time ago when young. I found it very interesting - thought the guides did a good job - I felt I had learnt new things; it brought history to life more ... although I would have liked more time to browse. Of course, the tour was taylored to 'Bible prophecy' and the WT spin on it and I didn't know at the time their dates were all screwy. I'd get so much more out of visiting now (with a non-JW tour guide).
Ah ha, there's a JW tour company who specialize in it: http://www.meander.co.uk/british.php
this thread's in tandem with clarity's started here in the members only section.. remember the jwn poster livingthedream from 2 years ago?
his threads often had me in stitches and he had a real knack of hooking you into the story so that you kept reading.
who of us could forget the account of the booming voice of 'god' ordering a double chocolate chip ice cream?
Hi Brock! Great to hear you're bringing out another book
does anyone know where there might be a link to an english watchtower library 2013?
i don't know why i download an illegal copy every year - probably so i can take the mick...... all i can find is an italian version - the only italian i can speak is on the menu at our local restaurant......
Thanks
For the first time I've realized you can change the default font for the WT Library text, so now it's in Comic Sans
Little pleasures.
so there is lots of buzz on the internet, and lots of buzz probably even among jw's, that in 2014 in the passover there will be a blood moon... supposedly that's a sign.... .
what a load of bull.... .
a couple of seconds of critical thinking, and a little googling, and you reach the following conclusion:.
Neither lunar eclipse in 2014 will be viewable from Israel.
The Americas will see them. In October, the Eastern side will see the eclipse as the Moon is setting, so it may well appear blood-red - something for the JWs at HQ to marvel at (nice timing - when eschatological excitement will probably be at its highest).
anyone have an iso image available for download?
i was told that they are coming... but hasn't shown up at our kh yet.
.
Thank you WF

Can Spawn or anyone else PM me please? Thanks :-)
one for mit last month, and one for princeton tonight.. if i told this to people at my old hall, i am sure the reaction would be the same as if i broke a big, noisy windblast in front of them.. but i have to brag about it to someone, so, i will do it here.. .
we will not know anything about whether he is going to be accepted for a couple of months yet, but, as they say, this $%^# just got real!.
.
Congratulations to your son for getting that far! Wow. Good for him! I hope he gets accepted. You'll let us know?
(Been through a similar process with one of mine recently and it turned out well.)
