  Karaoke Contests - Rant

  i've just recently entered into (another) karaoke contest.

  i've been in quite a few, but have never placed first despite the fact that i can usually wow an audience.

  the thing is, i've mostly seen women win these things.

  Paradise Erf - What did you NOT look forward to?

  remember when you were in the troof, and had the thoughts of paradise erf continually being pounded into your head?

  you'd be able to pet lions, eat fruit, and smile, but there were things that were going to be destroyed at armageddon.

  What scams did you use for counting your time?

  flowerpetals post and thread reminded me of some of the scams we would use to try to show the maximum numbers of hours spent in "service" for the smallest amount of effort.

  here's some of the ones i remember...just wondered if any of you had any other memories.. .

  "placements" were ocassionally returned to me and I wanted to put negative integers (-1) on my field service report. I thought they could deduct the placement for the previous month. A pioneer told me not to, she said they still counted.

  The same pioneer had a few long-winded return visits who needed people to talk to. We would nod and say "uh-huh" while they droned on and on. Each one would last about an hour.

  "Spider" w. Ralph Finnes was a good thriller...

  Wrong Turn is funny/ horrible & a real adrenaline rush. you gotta love those inbred cannibal hillbilly zombies.

  Ringu was bizarre. I liked the hairstyle of the little girl tho. Like a junior version of Cousin It.

  Hi Been There,

  I don't think drug testing companies check for gender, they usually check for the "standard 5" set by the Govt: Cannabinoids (marijuana, hash), Cocaine (cocaine, crack), Amphetamines (amphetamines, methamphetamines, speed), Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine) and Phencyclidine (PCP).

  How do you plan to do this? Are you going to pee in a plastic bag and tape it to his leg, then hook up a tube to it and tape it to his penis? It may be more involved than you think. Whatever method you choose, you might end up with a leaky container of warm urine and a smelly mess that is hard to explain/ ignore.

  Did your buddy know about this test 3 months ago? You can always "prepare" by not using for a few months. Even die-hard pot heads <cough, cough> have done this. It's quite a lot of pressure to put on a friend, asking her for clean piss and possibly jeopardizing her job.

  I don't like drug testing either, or the drug laws of this country. It's nice of you to want to help your friend, but don't screw yourself in the process. -suz

  Also, FYI: If you use a product to "clean out" your system of drug traces, and the test picks up the adulterants in the urine sample, that sample will be considered positive for drugs.

  Alcohol may be legal, but it is a drug, and some companies do test for it (e.g. Airlines, military).

  i wonder if pam feels bad how silicone is treated on a daily basis!

  imagine the poor bunnies that had to test silicone implants before they got approval to be put in pammy's body!.

  one of my wife's best friends talked to her yesterday about "the truth".

  she wanted to know if they could get together to "talk".

  after some conversation, my wife asked her if she thought all the "prophecies" in the isaiah book seemed reasonable.

  Doors you were afraid to knock on

  when you were in the field service, were there some doors that you did not want to knock on, by fear?

  in my city there is a hells angels bunker and that group is called the "nomads".

  a door i would not knock on in any circumstance.

  There was a tenement-type bldg in the territory. It was white at one time, but caked with years of dirt and grease. The elevators didn't work, and the stairs smelled of urine. All the sisters hated going there. A lot of immigrant families lived there, including kids I went to school with. It seemed like all the men were drunks or druggies. Most of the residents had limited English, so the sermons were always short. Only a few people even bothered answering the door.

  The place got torn down and turned into condos. Thank god for gentrification.
