the couple that my mr.horton and i had been studying with when we were considering going back to the truth finally got ahold of him.
the did the usual routine.

I wish i had some advice for you about your mom, but i dont. Im sorry that this is happening to you, but she is indeed told to limit her association with you, and other non-beleiving family members.
That is all too familiar.

Your story sounds exactly like mine. I too was raised a jw, so to find out that everything you have ever known to
be the truth is a lie, its quite difficult to swollow. You are going to go through all the emotions, its normal. I cried
for about 3 weeks after i found out. Luckily my husband found this site and led me to it. It has helped tremendously in
my healing. Bring your wife here, and let her read some of the information and the storys, she will understand alot
more. You found the perfect place to help you in healing and actually feeling normal in this world. You will get through
this, we will help in any way we can.

to restate: when is comes to being friends with someone, are you "obligated" to do certain things?
I guess it would depend on the friend. But you should never feel obligated to your friends, a true friend would not make
you feel like you were obligated to them. When it comes to my best friend, and other close friends, i will bend over backwards to help, not out of
obligation, but because i truly love my friends.

Thank You Leolaia for posting all that info. Its interesting how they say to make it a private matter to celebrate an
anniversary. My sisters and I had a HUGE 25th anniversary party for my parents. Almost everyone from two
congregations were there including elders. We had a dj and bar, the works. I guess they dont read and apply their own material.
I also find it hysterical about the Christmas dinner at the Brooklyn Headquarters. Can you imagine being there to see that!!!

Im looking forward to seeing what comments there are on this, being that my jw parents anniversary is
this weekend. Even though i am df'd, and they somewhat try and shun me (i just wont hear of it, so i
invite myself over whether they like it or not. LOL), anyways, i still make it a point to make a big deal out of it for them. I bought
presents and am taking them over on saturday. I would love to confront them with this question, and then have some
great comeback. I will be checking back on this thread.

i will start by telling a funny little story about what my six year-old daughter said this weekend:.

Thats hilarious! They are so innocent that you cant help but to laugh.
A few weeks ago while we were shopping, my husband was walking my son to the potty. He tells my husband from out of no where "dad, i have NO clue"...
My husband laughed and told him "son, you never will" LOL
I thought that was the cutest thing, i realize he probably heard someone say it and just repeated it, but it just goes to show how much they pay attention and
