Active JW's, can you defend "THE TRUTH?"
by DATA-DOG inas of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.

A new religion??
by Crazyguy inwas the ot books of the bible an attempt by the priestly class of the hebrews to build a religion.
i have discovered that some of the 10 commandments may have come from hammurabi's laws.
tithing 10% coming from the egyptians and phoenicians, the god el which is named in genesis as the supreme god came from the canaanites, several of the verses and stories in the bible taken from other cultures.

Crazyguy,
Read Gerald Massey's work...
"Ancient Egypt Light of the World, "Natural Genesis" and "The Book of Beginnings"
I also recommend "Signs and Symbols of Primordial Man, The Evolution of Religious Doctrine in Escotology of Ancient Egyptians" by Albert Churchward
Kersey Graves, The Worlds 16 Crucified Saviors Before Christ"
"The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets" Barbara G Walker* (This book has enough info to keep you in the library for the next 10 years)
"Woman's Dictionary of Symbols and Sacred Objects" Barbara G Walker* (You want to know what the cross really means?)
These are just a few..there are many more...unfortunately the internet does not give us all of the answers...we need to read read and read some more.

Christians put personhood to the Sun...I mean Son...too...before he (they) was (were) all statues...
see the movie 'Agora'...it's available on Netflix...there's a huge hint in this movie that alludes to this fact...but more importantly Serapis, and the outcomes at the Council Of Chalcedon should substantiate things from a historical prospective.

WTWizard,
I really would like to burst your bubble but unfortunately, you are stuck in it. I really do feel sorry for you. Based on your post, it's clear that you have much to learn about the world you live in.

CrazyGuy...you are at the tip of the iceberg...
Here's one for you... Isis Ra El.....combine the three words and you get Israel (Research that)....while you're at it Sol, Om and On....which literally means Sun God of On...On being the city the Greeks call Heliopolis (The city of the sun)....the truth is stranger than fiction..
oh and another one, Maat ( my tag name)...since you mentioned the 10 commandments... :-)
if you thought the WTBT$ lied about theior rendition of the bible...you ain't seen nothing yet...

Memorial Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT "Witness" to Family and Friends
by AMNESIANO inanyone who has awakened to ttatt and conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent individual from a prominent multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.
by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dimissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".
nothing blasts a louder, clearer, and more deliberate message to the jws who personally knew you and those familiar with your jw bona fides that you are not merely "not making the meetings" or "spiritually-weak" but that there is a conscientious reason you have rejected the entire watchtower society life than choosing to forego what they know you know to be their one-and-only holy and sacred event of the year, the lord's evening meal.

Agreed non-attendance is key in convincing your spouse, family and congregation of your stance.
At my old hall they used to quietly take attendance of all of the publishers missing and present..any other halls like that?

8.) Path to true knowledge of the soul and spiritual growth.
Okaaaaaay, so that would be number four, then.
( 4. Big search/Big decisions )
The search is over...no big decisions are required it has already been made.
and about that thing called TRUTH...well, IT IS STRANGER THAN FICTION.

Deuteronomy 22:28,29. Thank Jebus nobody pays attention to this f*cked up part of "God's inspired word" any more.
by DuvanMuvan in28 if a man happens to meet a virgin girl who is not engaged and he seizes her and lies down with her and they are discovered,+29 the man who lay down with her must give the girls father 50 silver shekels, and she will become his wife.+ because he humiliated her, he will not be allowed to divorce her as long as he lives.
" -nwt 2013 revised edition.
was just on the thread about lot and his messed up family life and was reminded of another part of the bible that made me feel physically sick the first time i read it.

This account is one of many that you will probably never hear a JW comment on at the meeting.
"Journey From Eden" by Kevin James Aaron provides more accounts like this in the Bible along with some interesting explanations of their origins.

How did you find the truth about the truth (TTATT)
by Maat13 ini am sure there has been a post about this subject, however being a recent addition to the network i don't know how to do a search.
and i'm sure new folks have joined since then.
i am really curious of how others came to know ttatt.. for me is was a real bad experience with one elder after another.

It so encouraging to hear from others who are now 'Awake'...pun intended. I'm hoping I can find a way to enlighten others as well. It's a slow process..
Faithful Witness said " Accidental exposure to apostates on the John Ankerberg Show on YouTube"
I watched that show several months back...it's certainly is an eye opener.
One question however, what is "six screens of the watchtower"?
